Job Description

The Solutions Engineering Manager with report into the Director of Worldwide Solutions Engineering and will be responsible for a team of Solutions Engineers supporting Account Executives and Account Managers in their pursuit of new business and upsell opportunities.

This integral team member will be a leader for our Solutions Engineering team and provide coaching and mentorship of Solution Engineers around demo delivery, proof of concepts, technical feasibility of the proposed solution, and subject matter expertise for our product suite. It is important that one have a strong customer centric mentality and genuine curiosity for the breadth of the customers’ real business challenges, along with the ability to match our growing solution set to solve them.  Conga has grown to 6,500+ customers due to our excellent customer success and it is important that you embody that as we continue to grow. 

 Responsibilities:

As needed, work directly with the sales team providing subject matter and product expertise with technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof of concept activities (Player / Coach role)

Support responsibilities such as recruiting, hiring, conducting team meetings and calls, compensation planning, etc.

Support the performance management process with the Solutions Engineering team including activities such as goal planning, professional development, and annual reviews. Responsible for team motivation, retention, and career planning

Coach, mentor, and motivate team members

Work closely with sales management peers around deal strategy, progression, prioritization, and resourcing

Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

Assist with development of technical training and enablement of Solutions Engineering team during monthly Development Days, annual SE Symposium, and annual Sales Kick Off

Additional responsibilities include development of relationships with other organizations inside Conga as well as maintaining current knowledge of both corporate and industry direction

Travel to visit customers as required and ride along with fellow team members, up to 50%

 

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree is required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years of Solutions Engineering / Pre- Sales experience
  • Prior people management for team lead experience preferred
  • High level of business acumen
  • Ability to deal with conflict and resolve appropriately
  • Well versed with sales processes as it relates to pre- sales responsibilities within solution selling and traditional product sales methods
  • Proficiency in Salesforce preferred (administrator and/or developer certification a plus)
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions preferred
  • Candidate should be self-confident, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and have an ambition to succeed
  • Ability to connect with customers to become a trusted technical advisor
  • Team player with ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams across sales, delivery, operations, etc.
