Job Description:

T-Mobile's Home + Entertainment Content Partnerships team is adding a Manager of Content Partnerships, who will be an integral addition to our growing team. As a member of Content Partnerships, you will support and drive the execution of our full range of deal negotiations with television's biggest brands, among them, major broadcasters, sports leagues, television networks, movie studios, pay-per-view events and more. You will work with members of the team to grow our portfolio of content and programming rights including video-on-demand, 4K content, TV Everywhere and other new media projects. Because content rights are the backbone of home entertainment, you'll also work cross-functionally with a range of departments including product development, operations, advertising, sales, marketing, regulatory, privacy and more. We are a strong, collaborative team that seamlessly integrates with, and is well respected and appreciated by, our internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate broadcast, cable network and subscription video-on-demand agreements, including premiums, studio, and retransmission consent agreements. Experience on studio and revenue-generating transactional agreements is a plus.
  • Create new deal structures and advise on deal strategy, costs and other information relating to our home and entertainment products and services.
  • Support business modeling efforts for internal and external negotiations.
  • Track ongoing deal priorities for the Department.
  • Drive strategy and research for upcoming and current deals, data analysis.

Qualifications:
Must Haves
 

  • Extensive experience negotiating affiliate agreements including network licensing, packaging, license fee structures, and most favored nations clauses.
  • Strong knowledge of industry trends, technologies and emerging platforms. 5 -7 years of experience in a role negotiating and drafting content acquisition agreements. 
  • The ideal candidate currently or recently worked at a cable system, DBS operator, major programmer or established vMVPD/OTT provider.
  • Confident ability to apply knowledge and business judgement to make independent decisions in a high-volume, fast paced environment.
  • Experience with cable, satellite and IP-based distribution systems and platforms.
  • Team player with excellent written, verbal communication, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Highly organized and ability to manage high-caliber deals with tight deadlines.
  • Results oriented emerging leader with maturity to counsel senior leaders and executive management.
  • Unquestionable integrity and candor; superior analytical & strategic ability.
  • Passion for learning and collaboration across various internal teams, curiosity, and willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Management experience.

 
Exciting Add-ons
 

  • An understanding of traditional television advertising models and advanced advertising technologies.
  • Experience with production, studio arrangements, and other subscription video on demand structures.
  • Strong industry relationships and trusted reputation; prior managerial or mentor experience.
  • Analytics skills.
  • Skilled in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
