Account Specialist

The Account Specialist (AS) will work within the Sales Teams to drive transactional inside sales and opportunity creation. The AS will coordinate with Account Managers (AM) and Account Executives (AE) to run transactional inside sales opportunities, which the AS will lead across all phases of the sales process.  To develop cross-sell opportunities the AS will work with AM’s & AE’s to identify a target client strategy and execute an outreach plan.

What You Get To Do:

  • Work with AMs to take over and lead transactional sales opportunities, and manage/lead these opportunities through sale win/loss
  • Conduct and participate in proactive client outreach and quarterly business reviews
  • Work with CEs and AEs to identify cross-sell opportunities and lead proactive client outreach
  • Conduct initial qualification and discovery to determine client's current environment, potential projects, & challenges and goals to determine how Granicus solutions will help them achieve their goals
  • Use Salesforce.com to track all sales activities properly, keep all contact/lead data accurate, create new opportunities, and move opportunities through the sales process from start to finish (win/loss)
  • Work to identify market trends, best practices, referrals, and new opportunity areas to develop strategic outbound development campaigns
  • Verbally present Granicus solutions at a high-level
  • Build and cultivate relationships both horizontally and vertically through communications and conducting follow-up communications
  • Represent Granicus in a positive manner, foster trust, and reinforce thought leadership

Skills & Requirements

What We Need In You:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related field highly preferred
  • 1+ years of relevant sales experience
  • Public Sector sales experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com highly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, strong active listening skills, and no fear to pick up the phone and make cold calls
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed; takes initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery sales meetings
  • Strong critical/strategic thinking skills, able to problem solve quickly
  • Able to handle objections while learning & growing from them
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a team atmosphere, handle multiple projects and goals at the same time
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite of products
