About VIATechnik’s Cirrus Studio:

Cirrus Studio creates bespoke enterprise and project software to drive digital transformation within the AEC industry. Our mission is to support and accelerate VIATechnik’s guiding principles by automating our industry from the ground up. We seek to revolutionize and simplify the digitization of our built environment by creating insights from data analytics and machine learning; building more efficient workflows through automation, integration & optimization; and improving creativity with generative and computational design logic. Our work includes creating best-in-class standalone applications, custom integrations, add-ins, and web applications that bring enormous impact to our clients.

The role:

This is a client-facing role managing software development projects within Cirrus Studio. You will be the project owner, visionary, road mapper, and manager during the customer discovery, software development, testing, and delivery/rollout phases. Your computational design, algorithmic/logic expertise, prototyping, and project planning/management skills will be a perfect fit for this position.

In this role you will:

  • Understand Cirrus Studio’s capabilities and tech stack in order to present feasible technical solutions to clients
  • Clearly understand and break down complex client needs into tangible tasks and goals
  • Support the sales and proposal phases of business by suggesting value-add solutions, identifying opportunities for impact, and scoping/budgeting new solution recommendations on customer projects
  • Lead routine client-facing communications
  • Develop user stories, specifications, and project requirement documents for complex web applications and software plugins
  • Manage the UI/UX team’s workload and allocate design tasks to staff
  • Work with the UI/UX designers to develop UI design mockup and UX flow documents
  • Develop written proposals and specs based on developed user stories, project requirement documents, and UI/UX mockup
  • Work directly with software developers; control, align, troubleshoot, plan, and manage all developer tasks throughout the project
  • Perform user acceptance testing and provide feedback to developers
  • Communicate progress updates to and from clients as well as the internal team. Eliminate communication barriers, create clarity, and build consensus
  • Proactively monitor project budgets, task progress, and schedules. Actively work with developers to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Own project deliverables, solve problems, and ensure project success

Apply if you have:

  • 2+ years of deep project management experience in a software development environment
  • 2+ years of AEC practice and software knowledge
  • 2+ years of staff and task scheduling experience using Jira, Confluence, or other web-based project management tools
  • At least one year of experience with agile and/or scrum practices
  • Experience with prototyping, scripting, algorithms, and logic development
  • Strong ability to develop concrete and detailed scope items as well as product roadmaps from conceptual needs and client requirements
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Availability to work 2+ days per week out of the Chicago, Denver, or New York office

Even better if you have:

  • Personal software development experience (C#, Revit API, Forge API’s, Angular, NodeJS)
  • Personal experience with cloud hosting services (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience working with Figma
  • Generative design and optimization experience (Grasshopper, Rhino, Dynamo)
  • Participated in the development of several software solutions that have brought real value to end users

Compensation and featured benefits:

  • The pay for this position is a minimum of $90,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
  • Health insurance with the choice of four plan options. We cover at least 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 70% of the premiums for dependents
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and 50% of the premiums for dependents
