We are looking for high-energy, results-oriented project professionals to manage important government IT projects for our growing software and services company. The successful applicant(s) will have resumes and references that demonstrate a career of leading the successful delivery of high value, high risk, multi-million dollar software projects. They will have excellent communication skills and will demonstrate a clear and convincing understanding of project management principles.

We are not interested in a paper PMP; we want professionals who take pride in delivering results.

Job Description:

The Software Implementation Project Manager takes full accountability for end-to-end project management of highly complex software implementations. The PM engages with our personnel and with the customers to establish a strong relationship, and develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates and status reports. This position requires in-depth knowledge of contractual obligations and terms, and translates those into project deliverables. The PM establishes project goals, objectives and requirements, and tracks and reports project status. The Project Manager will focus on the successful delivery of new software implementations, upgrades and other add-on projects. The role requires a balance between client management, project management duties and technological skills. Functions performed include scope & change management, team management, communications, risk/issue management, budget management, quality management and interpersonal relations to manage project(s) which are often cross-functional in nature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and reports the progress of all project activity, including significant milestones, and any conditions which affect project cost or schedules.
  • Advises the client and company management of project risks in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes and reports the actual performance against the plan and recommends adjustments consistent with plan objectives.
  • Creates communication plans to keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues and assures timely adaptive action is taken.
  • Manages Project Completion activities, including lessons learned sessions and transitioning projects to Support.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project documentation.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards.
  • Manages client relations and communications related to requests for additional work.
  • Assists with annual planning, budget and re-forecasting cycles and processes.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years IT Project Management
  • 5+ years MS Project
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of the Software Implementation Life Cycle
  • Proven track record of managing multiple large implementations, meeting strict deadlines, identifying potential issues and controlling scope creep
  • Proficiency in project/program management methodologies and practices
  • Knowledge of, and competency in, project management processes, including planning tasks, allocating resources, risk management, issues management, time management, financial management, team management, quality management, monitoring and reporting and documentation
  • Demonstrates accountability, responsibility, and a passion for project management
  • Technical knowledge of software Implementations
  • Self-motivated, with a positive attitude
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Ability to plan and facilitate effective meetings
  • Strong communication skills for working with internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Experience presenting project proposals, status, and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Project/PPM applications

Helpful But Not Required:

  • Experience with Agile SCRUM/Kanban methodology preferred
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence is a plus
  • Court Case Management experience
