General Responsibilities:

• Effectively navigate project teams through the project lifecycle to deliver mission critical projects on time, on budget, while balancing scope and resources:
• Project Planning - Facilitates the development of detailed project plans so that scope, resourcing, technical approach, and schedule are agreed upon by stakeholders
• Exemplifies Total Project Ownership while driving the project execution of complex, technical enterprise level projects to include:
  • Coordinate internal resources and third party contractors/vendors during the execution of projects
  • Build teamwork and facilitate cooperation between multiple teams assigned to a project so that project tasks are quickly completed
  • Actively resolves project issues by applying project management best practices and escalate risks as appropriate
  • Prioritize tasks and effectively manage day-to-day issues
  • Performing risk management to identify, track, manage, and minimize project and operations risks
  • Lead project teams through decision making process to arrive at the best available decision by the right people, based on the right information
  • Involving all relevant stakeholders throughout a project as appropriate
  • Managing resource availability to avoid over-allocation
  • Managing dependencies within projects and across multiple projects
  • Managing changes to project scope, schedule, resources, and costs
  • Leading and facilitating organizational change-management for successful project implementation
  • Follows PMO processes and governance for project tracking, reporting and managing statuses from multiple teams
  • Gathering, creating, tracking, and maintaining project documentation, including project plans and status
  • Completes lessons-learned exercises at conclusion of project

Education Requirements

• BS or MS degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred

Certification Requirements

• PMP Certification highly desired
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrim Product Owner (CSPO) Scrum Certifications (or similar certification) highly desired

Experience Required

• 4-7 years’ proven success working as a Technical Project Manager and / or Program Manager in a formal PMO office
• 4-7 Years of hands on experience managing highly technical large-scale projects
• Experience in formal project management activities including Risk management and mitigation
• Experience with Cloud related technology, infrastructure principles, and structured data bases

What is the business need that requires additional staff and how will the additional headcount meet this need?

•     In 2019 and 2020 the Project Management Office will take on the responsibility of providing project management support to an increasing number of very technical projects.  This position will provide the technical acumen and leadership in those projects, which has historically been a missing skillset.
