QA Engineer
Position Overview:
Choozle is looking for a QA Engineer to join the Development team. The ideal candidate must have an “agile testing mind-set” and an understanding of the scrum workflow. He or she should be familiar with the LAMP stack, *nix shell scripting, and have a functional understanding of software development and programming. While the position itself is not specifically technical, the candidate must have an understanding of the needs of the software development team in order to ensure the quality of the team’s work is high. The purpose of the role is to support the QA Lead in test coverage of the system, helping to design test cases, and generally aiding the development team in delivering value to the customer.
-Assist the QA Lead in testing features/bugs/design tickets
-Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams by reviewing requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
-Document features, project acceptance criteria, and release content
-Assist in the development of automated and manual tests of the platform and related tools
-Participate in team sprints and releases via Bitbucket version control and Jira
-Uncover and track bugs through resolution within our Support and Development team processes
-Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
-Experience writing black box and GUI test cases, designing tests to mitigate risks, and helping business experts define requirements
-Experience writing simple SQL queries and insert/update statements and basic grasp of relational databases
-At least one year of experience with some scripting or programming language and/or open source test tools
-Ability to use basic Unix commands
-Experience collaborating with programmers and business experts
-Experience in context-based, exploratory, or scenario testing a plus
-Ability to work as part of a self-organizing team in which you determine your tasks on daily basis in coordination with co-workers rather than waiting for work to be assigned to you
