Project Manager - Diagnostics (Biotech, not IT)
SomaLogic is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join our Program Management team. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall facilitation, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects for SomaLogic’s Life Sciences business and collaborations. This position will require a proactive approach to all activities and the ability to drive deliverables for a variety of projects. You will coordinate with, facilitate and support clients, collaborators and cross-functional teams to ensure that projects, products and service offerings are well planned, documented and executed. This position is in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where effective communication, organization and initiative are essential.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and effectively manage communications and relationships with internal and external project stakeholders
- Facilitate the definition of project scope and deliverables
- Generate and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation, including scientific and technical work plans for Life Sciences service contracts
- Forecast, maintain and communicate up to date project information in tracking databases
- Identify and manage project barriers and risks proactively, and provide recommendations to mitigate
- Advance multiple projects while prioritizing across competing resources
- Lead project management practices and project work flow development and improvement efforts
- Represent SomaLogic at scientific conferences and externally with collaborators
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in biological or other life sciences or related discipline
- Project Management certification or coursework or desired
- Design Control experience is a plus
Skills and experience
- 3+ years professional experience of project management in the Life Sciences or related field
- Ability to establish and grow relationships, across diverse groups and individuals, with excellent facilitation, influencing and partnering skills
- Must possess the ability to proactively and effectively communicate ideas and information, in a scientifically-based forum
- Detail oriented, with a proactive and flexible working style capable of both self-directed work and participation in multidisciplinary teams
- Good problem identification and creative resolution aptitude
- Must have proven project management skills and familiarity with project management concepts and software
