Job Description:

As the Program Operations Associate for Global Energy, you will be responsible for managing the program operations of the group’s various energy deployments, which today includes solar and LED, but is expected to expand to additional technologies and programs in the future. Prologis' Global Energy team leads value-add, energy-related programs within the Procurement, Ancillary Revenues and Services (PARS) department. PARS is a start-up enterprise within Prologis where we are creating innovative new products and services that drive value and additional revenue.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Execute team projects at an oversight level to successfully deliver on program goals.
    • Leverage technical aptitude and understanding of electrical systems, solar, battery storage, energy metering, electric vehicles, and energy project execution and financing to originate, advance and monitor Prologis’ energy programs and investments.
    • Liaise with local construction and development personnel responsible for field inspections during project development period, including site visits and direct project oversight as needed
    • Maintain technical control of projects and specifications – you will be a key part of the team which develops national and global specifications for Prologis’ development, building and energy-related scopes
  • Own the  operational management of Prologis Global Energy programs and projects, including:
    • Oversee day-to-day operational administration of programs including: procurement, negotiations, contracting, contract administration, and system operations and maintenance
    • Provide ad-hoc support for energy projects, for example proposal and presentation creation, customer problem solving, and contract review.
    • Support in business planning and forecasting, as needed.
    • Tracking project and program metrics for the department, including engagement with other internal and external departments such as ESG, Risk, Marketing, etc. as assigned
  • Support the design and creation of Prologis’ energy products and services and related negotiations
  • Conduct research, gather information and maintain organizational awareness, internally and externally, to enable completion of team goals; this could include policy, technology, equipment manufacturers and pricing as it pertains to evaluating new and emerging technologies within the energy and real estate space
  • Collaborate widely within the Prologis organization on new business cases including the impact of data, sensors and the IoT on concepts such as ‘warehouse of the future’ and ‘smart-shell’
  • Work with program leads to prepare memos for Investment Committee and Executive Committee
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, customers, partners and other external parties
  • Maintain an adaptable, “can-do”  attitude (PARS is effectively a start-up) and drive efficiency and speed

 

 

Essential Skills & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Design, Construction or Real Estate, master’s degree a plus
  • 4-6 years of experience in real estate or renewable energy fields, with a finance/business operations focus
  • Experience in solar, renewable energy, electrical systems and energy markets is key
  • Highly comfortable with financial analysis, concepts and modeling, including and expertise in excel
  • High attention to detail and solid judgment in efficient, clear presentation of information
  • Ability to deliver thought-out results and work product with limited information and guidance
  • Dedication to the team’s success and work schedule flexibility to meet the needs of an evolving business
  • Comfort with deadlines, competing priorities, and ambiguity in outcomes and organizational lines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with reading, drafting and modifying real estate and transactional legal documents a plus
  • Excitement for finding/implementing new technology solutions and interest in construction/development
  • Willingness to travel as business needs dictate, potentially up to 20% of the time
