POSITION SUMMARY  

Alterra Mountain Company is looking for an Organizational IT Change Manager to be responsible for ensuring that projects (change initiatives) meet objectives by increasing adoption and usage of new/improved technology tools, business processes, and organizational structures. This senior level individual contributor role focuses on the people-side of change with a primary emphasis on creating and implementing change management strategies and plans. The Organizational IT Change Manager will work alongside the project manager to manage medium to large size, moderately complex projects, or initiatives. The Change Manager will also be responsible for establishing and implementing change management processes and adhering to Alterra’s program methodology (Business and IT communities) to ensure projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES  

General Responsibilities 

  • Create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance, including, but not limited to the following activities: 
  • Stakeholder identification. 
  • Assess impacts of proposed changes. 
  • Complete change management assessments. 
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance to change. 
  • Develop change management plans for projects and/or change initiatives. Including communication planning, training planning, readiness assessment, and adoption measurements.  
  •  Consult and coach project teams on planned changes, and how to manage those changes. 
  • Hands-on development of communications and training materials that support a successful transition to various application/software for end-users. 
  • Lead change management work streams with a structured methodology / process. 
  • Work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization of, and proficiency with, the changes that impact employees. 
  • Create strong relationships with business and project stakeholders to build a network of change champions and agents. 
  • Quickly become familiar with client business challenges and technologies to understand the environment for change, and act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders while leading change. 
  • Provides regular, professional, and appropriate communications to project team members, department heads, business sponsors, and senior leadership. Working with the Project Manager to proactively identify, track, and resolve issues, risks and dependencies associated with current initiatives, and communicate risks and issues to the project team and senior leadership. 
  • Support project teams in integrating change management activities into project plans. 
  • Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs. 
  • Builds appropriate horizontal and vertical logic in presentation decks. 
  • Presents comfortably and compellingly to senior audiences. 
  • Detailed and willing to “roll up your sleeves” in playing both a strategic and tactical role in delivering change management services. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a common field such as business, human resources, change management or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Four (4) years of experience in organizational change management role.  
  • Experience using change management processes and methodologies and implementing processes across multiple levels of the organization.  
  • Experience with medium to large-scale organizational change efforts. 
  • Experience working successfully with both technical personnel and non-technical customers and staff. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS 

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process. 
  • A self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication abilities; analytic, organizational, listening and problem-solving skills. 
  • Familiarity working alongside a project manager(s), business analyst, and other project team members. 
  • Possess and demonstrates knowledge and expertise in the use of change management methodologies and tools, facilitation skills, and change management techniques.  
  • Experienced in leading others through changes to the way they work and how they interact with enterprise technology 
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle 
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions or perform research to develop a deep technical understanding. 
  • A team player that motivates project team, drives to project success, and influences large cross-functional teams without direct reporting responsibility.  
  • A high degree of perseverance, adaptability, and tolerance for ambiguity. Comfortable shifting focus as project priorities or unexpected events that might arise. 
  • Ability to work under deadline pressures and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and other Alterra employees. 
  • Ability to effectively work on several projects/change initiatives in parallel.  
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills. 
  • Strong business acumen. 
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach 
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics 
  • Advanced competency with MS Office toolset including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $85,000 to $128,000 per year per year
