Healthgrades is focused on providing trusted information that helps consumers and providers make meaningful connections. As a Medical Informaticist, you will collaborate with the data team to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the clinical mappings used to drive Healthgrades’ products and services. You will be responsible for mapping incoming client and vendor data sources into the standardized Healthgrades taxonomy including, but not limited to specialty, condition, and procedure concepts.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Document requirements for the Healthgrades taxonomy across both clinical and non-clinical parts of the business.
  • Process custom lists, including client lists, and their mapping to the taxonomy.
  • Maintain the Healthgrades taxonomy by researching and applying synonyms, search terms, and relationships between data sets.
  • Collaborate with the Data Validation and Data Engineering teams in the modeling of terms, concepts, and the relationships between concepts in the taxonomy using online tools
  • Resolve data investigations and add/update requests from providers, consumers, and clients.
  • Define processes for measuring the impact of taxonomy changes on the database that have impacts across the business and collaborate with data analysts to distribute the impact analysis as changes occur.
  • Coordinate with other analysts and product owners on the integration of taxonomy needs across the Healthgrades online, mobile, social, and consumer relationship products.
  • Regularly report upon the progress of the Healthgrades taxonomy including the numbers of terms, concepts, and relationships that are supporting the business.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Experience mapping clinical terms and concepts.
  • Experience managing consumer use of health information and the appropriate terms used by that audience.
  • Familiarity with the coding and relationship conventions of SNOMED CT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT; experience with additional clinical coding systems such as RxNorm, LOINC, UMLS, MeSH, or others is a plus
  • Ability to perform primary and secondary research on clinical and consumer terms.
  • Track record of juggling multiple projects/tasks on tight deadlines and within budget.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfort using Excel and basic SQL
