JOB DESCRIPTION
Vertafore is hiring a full-time Project Manager II, Development (PMII) to execute on technical projects and strategic corporate initiatives. PMII's are responsible for managing multiple projects and tasks in various IT and software areas. As a PMII, you will manage the complete project lifecycle including scope and success creation, tasks and timelines, resource allocation and risks. You will coordinate work with multiple cross functional teams to ensure project timelines and tasks are completed on time and on budget. Ensure technical documents and processes are developed and documented that adhere to the Program Management Office (PMO) standards and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Project Manager II's (PMII) will work directly with IT, product and business to complete strategic initiatives.
PMII's will manage technology projects, defining milestones, success criteria, resource allocation and successful on-time delivery.
Coordinate internal resources and 3rd party/vendors for flawless execution of multiple concurrent projects.
Develop and measure project performance including KPI's, resource and capacity, budget and cost.
Communicate project plans, tasks and schedules, priorities and status to all levels within Vertafore.
Utilize project management industry best practices, techniques and standards. Adhere to PMO processes and procedures throughout entire project lifecycle.
PMII's will be strong problem solvers and data driven. Fast learners with strong ability to adapt and thrive.
Qualifications:
4+ years of program or project management experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent alternative education and/or practical experience.
Proven track record of driving complex programs across organizational structures while balancing day-to-day tactical needs of the program.
Experience with project-management frameworks in IT and software development environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have excellent listening, writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate progress across Vertafore to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to build strategic stakeholder relationships with members across all levels of Vertafore.
Prior experience with project development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Kanban).
Ability to identify opportunities, define successful approaches and proactively solve problems.
PMP or PMI Certifications.
Additional Requirements and Details:
- Travel required up to 10% of the time.
- Located and working from an office location.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
- Frequent sitting and/or standing.
