Marc Andreesen quipped in 2011, “Software is eating the world,” and Agile management is at the center of the feeding frenzy, spreading far beyond its origins in software development to the auto industry, routers, chip manufacturing, groceries, and retail.

At CA Technologies’ R&D Innovation Center in Boulder, Colorado we build products like CA Agile Central, formerly known as Rally, that enable companies to morph from slow-moving bureaucracies into places where trust, innovation, and rapid response to changing customer demands are the norm.

We think that radically transforming the way software is built and delivered is pretty exciting stuff, and we are looking for a Director of Agile Program Management who wants to join the fun.

At its core, the Director, Agile Program Management is a servant leader who facilitates and supports our organization in delivering high-value solutions to our customers.  This role owns the operational effectiveness of the Agile Central Release Train.  This is an exciting time for Agile Central as we are continuing our own Agile evolution.  We are moving “beyond SAFe” to a model of “continuous everything.”  We are looking for a Director of Agile Program Management to lead our Scrum Master organization in helping us to refine, define and implement the ceremonies and cadence required to make us as successful as possible.  You will be an integral member of our R&D Leadership team, and you will own and remove blockers for the Agile Central R&D Organization to ensure the team is able to meet commitments.

  • Provide tracking and visibility for all Agile Central Programs
  • Support organizational capacity planning
  • Drive continuous improvement and accountability across the Agile Central release train.

  • Balance available resources to support the objectives of multiple teams.
  • May represent CA in industry groups and events to create internal and external awareness of functional solutions.
  • Collaborate across other organizations within CA as appropriate.

Enable Agility

  • May additionally be required to perform the responsibilities of an Agile Program Manager.
  • Live the principles behind the Agile Manifesto in all interactions and equip the team to do the same.
  • Enable self-directed work teams and Agile practices that establish an environment conducive to a high level of employee engagement and performance.
  • Foster and enable innovation:
    • Champion diversity of thought.
    • Empower teams and individuals to take calculated risks.
    • Create the time, space, and collaborative environment necessary for ideas to be shared and to grow.
    • Enable teams to fail fast through experimentation, and to learn from and share both their successes and failures.
  • Act in Liaison capacity across products and product lines, sales, marketing, education, etc.
  • Apply a comprehensive knowledge and ingenuity in Agile techniques and Agile program management to handle complex assignments.
  • Be available to provide Agile Program Management advice/assistance to Agile teams as needed.
