Business Systems Advisor:

OVERVIEW
 
This role will identify opportunities, architect solutions, and implement projects to improve the efficiency, productivity, effectiveness and scalability of the business using systems, services, tools and partners from our Business Systems information technology portfolio.This role will collaborate with internal leaders and stakeholders in multiple functional areas to solve problems and surmount challenges with technology.  A strong combination of project management, understanding of implementing technical solutions, excellent communication and documentation skills, and the ability to own a project to a successful outcome is vital to this role’s success.  
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create clear problem statements and project charters – documenting problems, project scope, stakeholders and expected benefits
  • Analyze problems and projects to define the solutions and resources required to execute
  • Develop clear cost/benefit propositions working with stakeholders to prioritize their needs
  • Manage the execution of a standing portfolio of projects
  • Manage internal and external project resources in the implementation of solutions
  • Contribute to the execution of work with expert knowledge of technology in the Business Systems portfolio

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Coordinate with internal resources and service delivery partners to deliver complex technology solutions
  • Directs solution, operational service, partner, and sub-contractor teams that deliver and develop services and solutions
  • Develop project plans to define scope/deliverables, establish timelines, identify dependencies and identify critical path items
  • Establish communications management plans for each project consisting of cadence calls, scheduled email communication, and other agreed upon tools
  • Successfully communicate with senior executives on projects and have the ability to articulate highly technical subject matter to non-technical individuals
  • Monitor and report on all phases of the project to multiple stakeholders, focusing on budget, risk and schedule
  • Identify resource requirements and acquire the appropriate resources in a timely manner
  • Conduct and document high level risk management and effectively implement risk contingency strategies
  • Proactively contributes to the customer’s business improvement, planning, and budgeting process.
  • Develops strategies and processes with the stakeholders in areas such as performance metrics and measure, escalation, change management and communication.
  • Experience managing enterprise IT services in a SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environment with platforms such as Office365, Salesforce, etc.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT Project Management or Business Technology preferred; combination of education and equivalent work experience considered in lieu of degree
  • PMP or equivalent experience, s/he should be familiar with PMP requirements, and should demonstrate at least 2000 hours leading and directing projects, and 20 hours of project management education
  • 3+ years of experience with IT Projects from inception to completion
  • Experience managing and administrating cloud platforms: Azure, O365, AWS, Salesforce and other PaaS, SaaS offerings
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and ITSM methodology
  • Broad working knowledge of information technology systems: compute, storage, networking, cloud, telephony, collaboration and enterprise systems (ERP, ITSM, HRIS).
  • Experience gathering business requirements.
  • Experience producing system, process, and training documentation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Solid foundational understanding of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to be an honest advocate, willing to push back when needed for the best interest of the business and the customer
  • Experience working with project management software such as MS Project and Visio with some exposure to online PM tools – Trello, Teams, Jira
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, policies, and technical procedures.
  • Willing to take ownership of issues and customer situations and develop action plans to assure customer satisfaction  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent organization and time management skill
