Wowza Media Systems is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to help drive the release of high-quality Wowza projects, products, and services using Agile methodologies. This person will play a vital role in ensuring that we maintain our high customer satisfaction ratings in the rapidly changing streaming media market. You will be working closely with a cross-functional and geographically-dispersed team of experienced software professionals that is focused on creating, improving, and driving adoption of Wowza streaming media products.

What you will be doing:

The person we seek is smart, experienced in Agile processes and software program/project management, and passionate about digital media technologies. You will be a member of Scrum Teams, guiding them to high-quality, high-value deliveries and helping the Teams continuously improve their Agile process. You will also facilitate and lead daily standups, sprint planning and retrospectives. A key measure of individual success will be assessing the maturity of their teams and helping coaching them to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the teams and organization.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering customer focused releases, identifying and tracking work items and issues, identifying bottlenecks, assessing and managing risks, reporting metrics, and balancing business needs with project challenges. You will work in close partnership with the product owner, engineering, support, documentation, and infrastructure teams, coordinating efforts across all of these teams as required. You must be excited to embrace our culture of customer responsiveness, as well as the fast paced and dynamic arena of streaming media.

With the rapid growth of the Wowza team, you will also bring relentless drive to create lightweight structure and flexible processes where needed, and to continuously improve how Wowza delivers products.

The success of Wowza is measured primarily in terms of customer satisfaction, which directly impacts revenue. This role will have a large impact on our success.

Experience we'd like you to have:

• Certified Scrum Master (prefer)
• 1+ years as a Scrum Master for software development teams
• Knowledge and experience with various Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, XP, Kanban
• Understanding of incremental/continuous delivery and the value of rapid software deployment
• Knowledge of several Agile approaches: Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
• Experience working with local & remote team members
• Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
• Must be able to garner respect from his/her team and be willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done
• A technical background that enables easy interaction with IT Pros, developers, and partners
• Previous Project/Program management experience would be an advantage
• Ability to help Agile Coach train and coach teams on improving Agile skills and maturity
• Proven experience of co-ordination & facilitation across teams without direct reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including customer-facing communication
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with people of all types, as well as mentor and coach the team on the Agile process
• Understanding of product life cycles and how they are managed
• Passionate about software products and helping customers to be successful
• Experience with industry standard Agile Lifecycle products; Jira, LeanKit, Rally, etc
