Job Description

The Senior Director of Certification and Recognition will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, execution and monetization of Scaled Agile's certification and credentialing programs. This role will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of certification programs, micro-credential strategies, and digital badge initiatives. The successful candidate will lead a team of certification and recognition professionals and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive revenue growth, enhance brand recognition, and increase industry credibility.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive certification and recognition strategy to drive billings growth, enhance perceived value, and meet the evolving needs of our customers, including SAFe professionals, consultants, and trainers.
  2. Create a compelling vision for Scaled Agile certification programs to captivate our customers, increasing the number of certified professionals, the average number of certifications per customer, and the average certification renewal rate.
  3. Scope and design certification programs to ensure they reflect the skills and knowledge required by industry professionals, planning and managing all activities related to establishing a new certification program from concept to launch.
  4. Design a stackable micro-credential strategy that aligns with the needs of the industry and offers opportunities for continuous professional development.
  5. Increase brand awareness and industry credibility by implementing a digital badge program that showcases the skills and knowledge of certified professionals.
  6. Manage and coordinate exam development activities for multiple exam projects, including exam refreshes, identifying and training subject matter experts, and developing preparatory materials.
  7. Co-facilitate competency modeling, item writing, and accuracy review workshops to ensure rigorous exams reflect the skills and knowledge our customers need.
  8. Create and maintain renewal exams, practice exams, and other preparatory materials to support exam takers.
  9. Maintain and enforce program policies to ensure consistency, fairness, and integrity across all certification programs.
  10. Aggregate, review, summarize, and take action on in-exam feedback and feedback received through other media to continuously improve the certification program.
  11. Synthesize detailed program data into executive-level summaries to communicate program progress, including key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
  12. Lead a team of certification and recognition professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and support to ensure the success of the department and the personal growth of team members.
  13. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including certification partners, industry leaders, and customers, to identify and address market trends and opportunities.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role, with a focus on certification, credentialing, or professional development programs.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful certification strategies that drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional people management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

Additional Information

This is a remote position. While this position may be based anywhere in the United States, we work collaboratively, team meetings are centered around regular business hours in the Mountain Time Zone, and infrequent travel may be required for in-person collaboration.

Scaled Agile is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.

Location

We are located in Northeast Boulder, situated on the hill above Valmont Bike Park, offering a wonderful view of the Mountains. Most of our employees continue to work remotely while at the same time we enjoy the ability to gather for planning and lunch is served on Wednesdays.
