Urban Sky is an aerospace company revolutionizing the earth observation industry. We’re a small, venture-backed, stealth start-up based in Denver, CO that's pioneering the utilization and exploration of the stratosphere. We've developed the first ever reusable stratospheric balloon, a new category of aerial vehicle we call the “Microballoon.” This small, reusable aerial vehicle is used to capture critical data about the Earth and our atmosphere. We're a small team of engineers, makers, hackers, and doers that believe in immense human potential when passion meets utility within a supportive team environment. About the Role:

As we begin to routinely build and launch flight hardware, we’re seeking a passionate, hands on fabricator and operator to build our stratospheric payload and flight systems and launch them to extreme high altitudes in the field. This dynamic, hybrid position includes two important roles and responsibilities, split generally 50/50 in terms of your time. The first role is that of a master fabricator capable of building complex, small spacecraft assemblies, including the build of stratospheric balloons. The second role is that of launch and recovery operator, handling the execution of small stratospheric test flight operations from launch to recovery in the field. This second role involves long but exciting hours in remote areas launching and recovering our stratospheric flight systems as part of a small flight operations crew. Both roles require a diligent, detail-oriented, process-driven, technically minded person capable of building and servicing equipment.  

We're a scrappy, lean, small team (so don't expect corporate bureaucracy, lots of oversight, and fancy offices), but that's also what makes us unique at this stage of growth.
