Director, Leadership and Management Development (Remote)

We are looking for a Director of Leadership and Management Development to lead key global talent management practices that delight our people managers around the globe. This newly created position reports to the recently hired VP of Global Talent Management, who is building the function to accelerate achievement of our business strategy.

The Director of Leadership and Management Development will bring expertise and passion to designing, delivering and executing leadership and management development strategies, initiatives and programs that build people manager engagement, effectiveness and happiness.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Understand and support strategic vision for Freshworks and stay apprised of external trends. Partner with Global Talent Management, and broader HR and leadership team to educate and align internal stakeholders on our strategic choices for our talent philosophy and associated talent practices that enable Freshworks business strategy.
- Partner with VP, Global Talent Management and key stakeholders to build our strategy for leadership and management development.
- Assess current practices; and design, deliver and execute globally scalable initiatives focused on (1) new people managers (new to role and new to our company), (2) individual contributors preparing for people manager roles, and (3) experienced managers
- Partner with Communications and leadership to plan and execute monthly people manager sessions designed to engage, inspire and support people managers, building their engagement and effectiveness.
- Serve on the core team responsible for developing updated leadership competencies/success factors
- Evangelize the role of the manager, and clearly communicate our compelling business case for investing here
- Regularly measure progress and assess effectiveness of initiatives and programs relative to driving outcomes and impact (e.g. increased retention, career development, succession bench strength, and effectiveness)
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, and manage external partners
- Proactively engage, align and communicate with key stakeholders and manage project related project plans in partnership with leaders, HR partners, Communications partners, and other key stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications:
- 12+ years HR experience with deep expertise in leadership and management development.
- Prior experience in a public company and working with stakeholders around the globe
- Experience designing, delivering and ensuring execution of successful learning and leadership development programs at fast growing companies.
- Experience managing external learning and development vendors. Deep knowledgeable of learning, development, leadership development; and effective management practices
- Experience working at all levels of the organization from senior leaders to front line employees
- Strong communication, relationship building and influencing skills. Collaborative and inclusive, with a bias for action, and strong project management skills.
- Comfortable and experienced with complexity, ambiguity. Able to translate complex concepts into meaningful, relevant, and actionable plans.
- Experienced with design thinking methodology, and designing experiences from the outside-in.

- Graduate degree in HR, I/O, business, learning, instructional design, learning measurement, OD or related field required
