As Director of Customer Experience, you will ensure that our products deliver an exceptional customer experience that sets Simple Energy apart from the competition. You’ll manage our squad of talented UX and creative designers and guide them in delivering on our multi-channel customer engagement strategy. You’ll partner with our Product and Engineering squads to create amazing customer experiences and create processes to ensure that the right people are providing input and the greater Simple Energy team knows what your squad is creating.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead our CX squad of amazing UX designers, UI designers and content creators
  • Acquire customer knowledge and champion customer insights across all levels of the organization and creating one source of truth to feed decision-making, and to ensure that our end users and utility partners are getting the most from our solutions.
  • Ensure internal, cross-functional team members contribute to and understand the strategy, and have the data they need to adapt and execute as relevant in their areas, including Product, Engineering, Partner Success, Operations and Customer Support.
  • Develop solutions that will deliver the exceptional customer experience.
  • Key driver of product experience and design across multiple channels, include responsive web, email, digital advertising, print, in-store signage, voice UX and mobile apps
  • Conduct analytics on all products to continually improve them
  • Collaborate with our utility partners to validate designs and strengthen our partnerships

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Work with Product to identify design priorities and guide the team in executing on them
  • Provide oversight and support to the CX squad and day-to-day direction
  • Serve as mentor and manager to the the CX squad around performance and career growth
  • Bring a data-driven approach to the team that includes both up-front research and ongoing analytics around our products
  • Identify customer insights, analyze them and interpret them in order to drive continual improvement in our products
  • Partner with our content operations team to help guide the day-to-day marketing decision-making
  • Work in an integrated fashion with the Operations and Partner Success Teams
  • Support marketing managers to execute programs on time, on budget and with maximum effectiveness
  • Own our product brand and design standards within the context of a white labeled product

What You’ll Need:

  • 7+ years of CX experience with a portfolio of UX-focused work samples for web and mobile applications
  • Ability to lead our squad of amazing UX designers, UI designers and content creators
  • Facilitation experience for internal and external UX/Design stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly build low - high fidelity user prototypes that demonstrate a range of customer journeys and flows (not just happy path)
  • You are comfortable running a variety of customer research activities, including interviews, usability studies, and card sorting of both real sites and concepts and analyzing the results
  • Previous experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Familiarity designing for responsive web and mobile platforms
  • A history of successful, proactive communication and collaboration with other designers, developers, and product management
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced, flexible, environment with a lot of multitasking and context switching
