Associate Manager, Enrollment Services

| Greater Denver Area

Guild, the leading education benefits platform and one of Denver's fastest growing startups, is increasing economic mobility for working adults in America and providing education and support to help every student survive and thrive in the economy of tomorrow. Our platform helps employers offer education as a benefit to their employees by connecting employers' workforces with our network of nonprofit universities and education institutions that focus on serving the needs of working adults. And, our team of retention coaches helps each employee navigate the path back to school, providing individualized support from day one through graduation. In order to accelerate our growth and achieve our mission to serve 1000s more students, we've raised over $70 million from top tier investors including Felicis Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Redpoint Ventures (among other social impact and VC partners!). Now, we’re looking to add an Associate Manager of Enrollment Services (Admissions) to the team.

The Associate Manager of Enrollment Services will manage a team of Education Coaches in the Enrollment Services group in their day-to-day execution of their jobs as well as partnering with cross-functional colleagues to drive continuous improvement to Enrollment Services’ Key Outcomes, including conversion rate, start rate, employee retention, and others.

A day in our open, collaborative workspace will look a little like this:

  • Collaborating effectively with Enrollment Services colleagues to improve the performance of all teams and individuals
  • Partnering with cross-functional colleagues to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Enrollment Services team members, collaborating to create process and program improvements, and implementing change
  • Advocating for student enrollment, retention, and success to internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyzing data to constantly improve admissions policies and processes
  • Overseeing relevant billing and financial operations in partnership with Guild’s Finance team
  • Supervising employees and working with them to develop new talent and progress and enhance existing talent
  • Coordinating marketing, enrollment, and coaching for new programs with existing partners
  • Asking the questions that will help you help the team continuously improve our outcomes
  • Supervising a team of Education Coaches including call review, scheduling, performance improvement, and systems/tools usage to drive excellent outcomes and continuous improvement
  • Managing a caseload of prospective students from initial conversation through to their transition to starting school (caseload ~50% of the Associate Manager’s workload)

In this role, you’ll grow and expand your expertise by:

  • Taking on a cross-functional role that will expose you to the ins and outs of Guild
  • Showing leadership by solving unique, complex problems across our enrollment team
  • Participating in the development of prototype processes to improve key outcomes

You’ll know if you’re successful by:

  • Achieving established enrollment goals for your caseload as well as driving the achievement of desired goals for the team you supervise
  • Developing productive relationships with Guild’s partners by meeting deadlines, rapidly solving issues, and collaborating on opportunities for enrollment growth and improvement
  • Launching new programs to meet our corporate partners’ and university partners’ needs
  • Improving student acceptance, retention, and completion rates
  • Working with Enrollment Services’ leadership team members to develop and implement new-hire onboarding training and ongoing training to improve the outcomes of the team
  • Launching new university and non-traditional partners and programs to meet growing client and student demands
  • Driving high employee satisfaction and employee retention rates
  • Receiving feedback through our learning-focused twice annual Structured Growth Conversations

You’ll join a team:

  • Of experts with experience in government, higher education, and private sector partnerships
  • Of learners & problem-solvers dedicated to our dual mission of changing education in America while building a successful, high-growth company
  • Committed to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment that you’d support every day

What you’ll add to Guild - as an individual and part of the broader team:

  • Passion for higher education and our mission
  • An understanding of diverse project management principles, processes, methodologies, and tools paired with an ability to critically evaluate and implement the right options for each project
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex, cross-functional projects at the same time
  • Experience using analytical approaches to develop, measure and evolve processes
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and communicate effectively while under pressure - balancing confidence, humility, and diplomacy internally and externally
  • An understanding of the higher education and benefits landscape
  • Evidence of your intellectual curiosity in the space - do you blog, tweet, speak or read everything that’s out there - tell us more!
  • Leadership experience managing complex problems, processes, projects, and people
  • A drive to work hard and a plan for how you can refresh and recharge while working in a startup
  • Something else? Wonderful, we’re curious to learn more about you!
