We are now looking for a Sr. Product Marketing Manager -Competitive Intelligence to join #TeamGreen in the US. The role can be based from our Denver-HQ, or remotely across the US.


As the Product Market Competitive Intelligence (CI) leader at Matillion, you will drive our relationship with sales, marketing, product, and executives on competitive product programs. You will craft our competitive positioning and content strategy to enable the sales teams to compete effectively in the field. In this position, you will work closely with product management, product marketing, sales enablement, and field teams to develop and roll out competitive programs. You will also be seen as the market landscape expert across the company and be consulted for the product roadmap, marketing campaigns, and GTM competitive sales plays. What you will be doing:

Competitive Intelligence:

  • Be the company expert on market/competitive intelligence and enable the entire organization on the market landscape and positioning.
  • Develop and update competitive content for the field, Product, Executives, and the Board on regular cycles. Deliver timely competitive messaging in response to competitive product launches, M&A activity, and partnerships = and support internal product launches.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Sales Leadership, providing critical competitive Sales and GTM insights and recommendations as part of strategic decision making and planning efforts.
  • Maintain and create new competitive battle cards, identify our core differentiators, and build and publish business and technical and competitive customer case studies across Matillion’s product portfolio. 
  • Drive competitive business programs, sales play design, content creation, and ensure effective execution and tracking.
  • Deliver ad-hoc deal support and competitive expertise to sales teams to craft winning sales strategies and plays - helps sales Close Deals!
  • Own our Win Loss program and leverage insights and findings to enable the field and inform Leadership.
  • Develop sales enablement tools and collateral that support the positioning and 
  • Partner with the Sales Enablement team to create training and enablement. Ensures the field can articulate Matillion’s commercial and technical differentiation to our top competitors across its various selling modalities. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver sales enablement sessions for new and existing Sales members to help drive the faster ramp times and accelerate time to quota
  • Be able to provide the appropriate level of CI training for every sales stage starting at the SDR level all the way to the Enterprise Account manager with regards to our competition 
  • Have enough technical depth to autonomously build and deliver training end-to end to the Sales Solution Engineers.

Essential skills:

  • Experience in product marketing, including (but not limited to) market sizing, market segmentation, customer persona definition, messaging/positioning development, competitive positioning, and market research
  • Output orientation with the ability to create high quality, customer-facing content, including web content, presentation material, solution briefs, and sales enablement collateral
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to launch and coordinate high impact projects with minimal oversight
  • Experience interfacing with data teams, enterprise architects, application development executives, CTO’s, CIOs, and business initiative executives.
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup and scale-up environments - tolerance for a high degree of change
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum five years professional experience in product marketing or product management for B2B SaaS products

Desirable skills:

  • 10+ years of technical, sales, or product marketing experience with databases, middleware, data integration, analytics, developer tools, and machine learning
  • Experience working with AWS, Google, Microsoft, or Snowflake products and support teams
  • Experience developing enablement content for complex enterprise buying processes
  • Pragmatic Marketing certification is a plus
  • Maintaining CI tools like Klue or Crayola.io

Personal Capabilities Required, e.g. skills, attitude, strengths:

  • Proven ability to quickly understand complex issues and communicate them to a variety of audiences in both business and technical orientations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with sales, marketing, and product teams
  • Proven ability to think and work strategically while driving rapid execution, including personally contributing key deliverables
