Fiber Engineer Intern

Eligibility
The Zayo internship program is open to graduating seniors and current students. All internships are paid, full-time work experiences. All internships are from June 3* - August 9, 2019 (*start date flexible to academic obligations).
Position Description
The Fiber Engineer Intern will report to the Systems Analysis team in Fiber Solutions and be responsible for special GIS-related projects related to data analysis and updating current standards and processes to improve data integrity.
Responsibilities
Assist with data cleanup in network inventory systems
Develop process documentation and systems analysis to support fiber engineering and outside plant construction teams
Work alongside fiber solutions teams to analyze and update procedures
Assist in areas of design and development to improve data integrity and support fiber engineering projects
Qualifications
Studying/degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering, GIS, Telecom, and/or related major.
Engineering background a plus.
Interest or experience with project management
Possess strong organizational and communicative skills, both oral and written
Attention to detail is a must for success
Must be a creative thinker with strong problem solving abilities, this is not a data entry position
A successful intern will have proven teamwork success and team leader abilities
Salesforce and GIS experience a plus, but not necessary
Must have proficiency in MS Office; Visio, Excel, Powerpoint
