About the Role
The VP of People will work directly with the COO and the leadership team to help shape the company's People team. She/he will build a world-class culture in a remote work environment. We are growing rapidly and need a thoughtful and strategic leader who has past experience in recruiting, talent development, employee enrichment, benefits, operations, and other People & Culture disciplines. The best candidate for this position will be a person who is comfortable in a high-growth tech startup, is passionate about growing and developing people, understands remote work/culture, and can help us scale our business. Working closely with business leaders across the company, this work will be instrumental in scaling each department, while developing and maintaining Quantum Metric’s culture and values and ensuring we remain a people-first company.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering creative strategies and experiences that span a broad range of crucial people functions, such as recruiting, performance management, on-boarding, culture and values, leadership development, and team engagement.
- Oversee and enhance company OKR processes for effective goal setting, tracking, and alignment
- Develop strategies to create an effective and fair hiring process including job postings, interviews, recruiting, on-boarding, enrichment, and retention
- Manage the entire recruiting process and act as a candidate / hiring manager advocate, ensuring that leaders are supported in building stable talent pipelines
- Establish internal communications initiatives, such as newsletters and all-hands, to foster transparency, alignment, and information sharing
- Refine our end-to-end approach to values, people development, and experience
- Build rewards programs aligned with a culture of recognition, gratitude, wellness, and appreciation (including peer-to-peer)
- Lead and iterate on performance review and promotion processes while supporting employees with career development and growth mindset
- Drive company culture through team meetings, events, community service, etc.
- Resolve sensitive personnel matters with the utmost integrity, discretion, and thoughtfulness
- Develop and enforce fair and thoughtful People policies that look out for the best interests of all team members
- Respond to a wide variety of challenges that fall to the People team to resolve on a day-to-day basis
- Own understanding of team engagement and create/execute plans to resolve issues
- Be a trusted strategic partner and advisor to the CEO, senior leadership and management teams
- Shepherd and grow our culture as we transition to a midsize company
Requirements
- Experience building, leading and managing People Ops and Recruiting teams
- Self-directed leader with prior experience building the People Ops function at a rapidly scaling company
- Ability to create energy, trust and belief in Quantum Metric Employees
- Experience building out or partnering in a DEI Initiative
- Energized by feedback and inspires team to constantly test and iterate toward success
- Projects stability and confidence through times of great challenge and periods of immense change
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who proactively takes ownership and is hungry to grow a maturing organization
- Data driven with the ability to master complex business problems while working with stakeholders across all business functions
- Always curious and always learning
- Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design and implement people strategy that drives business results
- A natural coach and mentor who relates well with others, listens effectively and can build rapport with a diverse and inclusive workforce
- Unquestioned passion, persistence and integrity to effectively address sensitive HR and business issues
- Strong service orientation with commitment to providing excellent employee and candidate experience
- Deep knowledge of legal HR compliance matters. UK specific knowledge is a plus
