Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting

Position Description
The Sr. Analyst of Financial Reporting will primarily be responsible for assisting with the SEC reporting process. They will be critical to ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of SEC filings. Additionally, they will be responsible for select month end close processes such as debt, intangibles, and other comprehensive income. This position will report to the Sr. Manager Financial Reporting, and work closely with the Accounting Department, Investor Relations, Finance and Tax.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of the Company’s SEC filings on Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other external earnings materials
- Complete the Company’s formal tie-out documentation for all SEC filings
- Assist with the external quarterly review and annual audit process, including preparation of various audit support requests and coordination of obtaining support requests from various groups within Zayo
- Completion of the equity, debt, intangibles and OCI processes
- Find efficiencies and make improvements to existing processes
- Review the XBRL tagging for the Company’s 10-K and 10-Q filings
- Assist with registration statements and offerings for debt or equity offerings as needed
- Creation and review of financial reporting schedules
- As needed, assist in researching and documenting complex technical accounting issues and SEC reporting requirements
- Assist in application of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, in the areas of financial reporting
- Participate in other projects as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of public accounting experience or combination public accounting and industry experience with SEC reporting experience
- Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Accounting
- CPA required; or working towards completing CPA
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and exercise judgment in fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work product
- Highly effective planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting and filing requirements
- Knowledge of Oracle, Onestream, Merrill Bridge, or Salesforce, a plus
- Advanced system skills including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to work effectively across the Company’s various business units and locations
- Ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and produce quality work while dealing with interruptions
- Experience in the telecommunications industry a plus
