Senior Manager, Data Engineering - Lumere
Description
As a Senior Manager of the Data Engineering teams atLumere, you will beleading a multi-disciplinary technical team working to improve and scale data processing and analysis capabilities for Lumere's clients and end users. The Senior Manager plays a critical role in defining the next generation of analytical capabilities for our software solutions. This role will lead a mix of software engineers, analysts, data engineers, and data visualization engineers to ensure that the team delivers on analytical outputs needed to accelerate Lumere's broader product development goals and support clients in monitoring their utilization of Lumere's solutions. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the governance & standards for data structures and pipelines within Lumere's application (such as for Electronic Health Record data) and guiding the team on best practices. In this role you'll be focused on defining the business logic needed to scale analyses and accommodate edge cases across different medical devices or health system subscribers' data. Analyses created support healthcare system administrators and physicians in making data-driven decisions to improve the cost effectiveness of patient care.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Own and optimize infrastructure to support data science and data operations capabilities specific to the Lumere business unit
- Lead the team to develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL, analytics, and front-end solutions. Work across GHX/Lumere to enforce governance standards
- Work closely with GHX's centralized Data & Analytics team to ensure customer needs are met by data services (e.g., Common Data Platform, item and transaction data services), bridge any gaps between sub-scale business unit work and centralized work, and support Lumere's Research team in developing proprietary data structures that are shared across GHX
- Be a leader helping set the vision for technology atLumereand GHXand serve on the Lumere Leadership Team
- Coach engineers and analysts to solve analytical problems and technical challenges, with a focus on effectively bringing data to life in the solution
- Continuously improve operations for delivering Electronic Health Record (EHR) analytics at scale
- Work closely with Product Management and UX/UI designers to make data available in the solution
- Communicate cross-functionally about new analyses and approaches -- particularly to equip field-facing teams for interactions with clients and sales prospects
- Stay abreast of industry trends in data visualization, data engineering, data science, and healthcare data/analyses to advance Lumere's capabilities and practices
- Leadan experiencedteam and guide architecturedesign
- Run an excellent agile development process while interfacing with engineering, product, and operations stakeholders
Requirements and competencies
- Experience effectively leading multidisciplinary technical teams (engineering, analyst) and processes
- Experience mentoring developers and contributing constructive code review, communicating with audiences of different technical backgrounds, and collaborating across multiple teams
- Strong background in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, and/or informatics
- Experience with information design and database architecture
- Curiosity and passion for communicating insights arising from large datasets
- Familiarity with healthcare data preferred but not essential
- Successful people management and development experience
- Ability to build strong relationships throughout the organization and be seen as subject matter partner

Estimated salary range for this position: $157,500-$177,000
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
