Please note that this position needs to be near site to our office on Fayetteville Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is partially remote, with about two days a week in the office.
Content Development Program (CDP) provides high-quality entity, ownership, and compliance data across a wide range of equity and fixed income asset classes. Our data enables financial institutions to make informed decisions around investor relation, trading, valuations, and risk management.
CDP enables efficient collaboration between Issuers, Banks, and Investors by streamlining operations and enhance performance with data-driven portfolio monitoring, investor reporting, investment insights, compliance, valuations, for our Global Clients.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Data Engineer who can help us develop a scalable, flexible, near real time data processing backend workflows using cloud native technologies.
This position involves rearchitecting and modernize legacy workflows, develop new data product and maintenance activity of existing workflow and infrastructure. The position offers interesting technical challenges involving working on a very large datasets and writing the serverless distributed computation engine capable of processing it in near real time.
The primary focus will be on designing, coding, testing, and deploying enhancements to our next generation content delivery systems using a diverse range of cloud native technologies.
You will be expected to be very hands on, delivering on projects and helping to architect and design the system flows required in support of the projects.
You will be responsible for overseeing junior data engineers' activities and aiding in building the right solutions.
What You'll Do

  • Design complex data solutions, including incorporating new data sources and ensuring designs are consistent across projects and aligned to data strategies.
  • Drive and contribute in design, planning and development of solutions based on business requirements using a diverse range of cloud native technologies
  • Be an active and highly collaborative team member as part of an agile development team.
  • Shows an affinity for finding solutions through discussions with team members.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills to solve a complex problem, and comfortable exploring them even if the problem and solution are not yet well-defined.
  • Flexibility to learn and enhance programming language skills with continuous improvement and finding better ways to do things.
  • Flexibility to respond on change.
  • Work closely with Product Owner and business stakeholders and be the driving force to generate business value.
  • Work closely with other developers, for example by pair programming and participating in code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and fix bugs.
  • Provide technical direction and training to more junior Software development personnel with industry best practices.


What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 6 + years of deep experience in Python.
  • 6 + years of experience in processing Big Data using any Cloud Native technology.
  • 4 + years of experience with relational databases such as SQL Server.
  • 3 + years of hands-on experience with AWS Services like S3, EC2, SNS, SQS, Lambda etc.
  • 2 + years of experience with Document DB/ Postgres SQL
  • 2 + years of experience in building various CI/CD pipelines using terraform.
  • Experience of executing at least one data migration project from on premises to cloud.
  • Complete knowledge of Agile and executed multiple projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Object Oriented design.
  • Hands on experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio / IntelliJ / PyCharm.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.


Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with various python frameworks.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL Databases is a plus
  • Familiarity with Hadoop Ecosystem is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Linux.


Compensation/Benefits Information:
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,300 - $133,100. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
