JOB SUMMARY:

As a Senior Data Engineer at SambaSafety, you will utilize your hands-on experience to design and develop reliable and scalable data solutions using industry standards, modern capabilities and agile processes for our data platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement event-driven data solutions to accomplish the integration, ingestion, and processing of data from diverse data sources
- Build and refine job automation and orchestration of data tasks.
- Create or integrate data storage and pipeline observability tools for various levels of the organization.
- Integrate a data mesh platform composed of traditional databases and data warehouses with event-driven data pipelines and microservices
- Utilize CI/CD pipelines to facilitate automated deployment and automated testing
- Document solutions for a variety of audiences
- Execute full lifecycle software development in an agile environment
- Mentor data and software engineers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or relevant work experience
- Extensive experience with distributed messaging and streaming technologies (Kafka)
- Experience with relational databases and data warehouse solutions such as PostgreSQL MySQL, Snowflake
- Experience with creating event-driven data solutions
- Experience designing and supporting high traffic, highly available systems.
- Strong communication skills. The ability to effectively explain concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
- Experience deploying software to a cloud platform environment. AWS, GCP, Azure.
- Understanding of modern DevOps concepts such Docker, Kubernetes.
- Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.
