Position Description
The Data Science & Analytics Associate will be responsible for assisting with analytics programs and initiatives, including but not limited to retrieval, extraction, manipulation, analysis, and modeling of data to meet the needs of the business. The ideal candidate has experience developing statistical models as well as handling and combining data.
This individual will be mentored by senior members of the department with goal of learning more advanced data science skills such as API usage, advanced machine learning and time series forecasting techniques, cloud-based computing, and model development with model deployment in mind. This role will also provide challenge, variety, and exposure to several areas of the business.
This role will have the opportunity to work on a variety of problems across the business and may be expected to provide support for Senior Management, Marketing, Business Development, Operations, Sales Managers, and related Programs.
The Data Science & Analytics Associate will work with senior members of the team and directly with key business stakeholders to analyze program performance and build solutions to solve core business challenges.
This role will work in partnership with the larger Enterprise Data & Analytics team to implement and execute scalable processes and reporting to drive collaboration and cooperation across teams such as product, business development, finance & accounting, pricing, IT & automation, data strategy, customer success, sales, and customer intelligence.
The position requires analytical skills and a “can do” attitude, with eagerness to learn new tools and techniques as data science is a constantly growing and evolving field. Expertise or demonstrated capability to learn Python, SQL, and machine learning methods is preferred.
Proactivity and personal communication skills are critical, as this role demands regular interaction with leadership and business stakeholders.
Position and salary depends on experience and education, the listed position and salary represent the base level.
Responsibilities
- Analyze sales, business development, and customer data to support executive, business development, and marketing programs
- Support data strategy and process improvement efforts by coordinating with multiple IT resources and data strategy team
- Assists in ad-hoc analytics and data science requests for various teams
- Develop advanced analytics and predictive models
- Automate and simplify efforts using scripts
- Proactive communication and updates on progress to both management and the organization
- Partners with business stakeholders to understand business problems and develop solutions
Qualifications
- Education, experience, and technical skills:
- Bachelor of Arts/Science with a numerate degree or 4 years of experience in a role with data manipulation required
- 3+ years of experience in quantitative analysis or 1 year of data science experience required (A Masters degree and/or certificate from a data science bootcamp may substitute for part or all of this experience)
- Intermediate experience with one of SQL and Excel and familiarity with the other required
- Intermediate experience with at least one of R, Python, or functional equivalent required
- Demonstrated background in statistical analysis and/or machine learning required
- Familiarity with machine learning and time series models required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
- Cloud-based computing and shell scripting preferred

- Base salary range in CO: $58,100-$77,450
