Position Description
The Analyst, Data Strategy will be responsible for assisting with analytics programs and initiatives, including but not limited to automating processes, data integrity, project management and business intelligence. The candidate in this role will act as a liaison between the business side of Zayo and automating IT systems. The successful candidate will provide outstanding support for Senior Management, Region Leads, Sales Managers and related Programs. This role will assist in developing and monitoring dashboards and act as the point person for establishing data capture and automating processes within Salesforce. As part of this role, you will work in partnership with the Business Analytics team, responsible for the implementation and execution of scalable processes and reporting to drive collaboration and cooperation across teams such as product, business development, finance & accounting, pricing, IT & automation, data strategy, customer success,sales, and customer intelligence. By pulling together all stakeholders in a programmatic approach, the team creates a comprehensive, actionable playbook for each region and sub-region (geography) based on our data and systems. The playbook is a clear roadmap for leveraging our deep and dense networks, our focus on infrastructure, our world class systems, and our innovative and entrepreneurial teams to meet and exceed our growth objectives. This role will be key in helping to automate systems and processes in support of the Business Analytics team.
The position requires analytical skills and a “can do” attitude, with eagerness to learn new tools and new coding languages - ie, SAQL (similar to SQL and Pig Latin Query Language) and R (similar to Python). Proactivity and personal communication skills are critical, as this role demands constant interaction with Sales, Sales Operations, Big Data, Tranzact Developers and leadership across Zayo.
Responsibilities
- Resource for IT Automation projects, including IT automation discussions and ticket submission to configuration/Salesforce core dev/Tranzact dev teams
- Assist in proposing, developing, and managing large projects to completion with a focus on driving efficiencies across multiple organizations in the Company
- Work closely with Team Lead to project plan and present final outcomes to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Assist with management and maintenance of key data, particularly surrounding Accounts & Geographies
- Data Integrity Project Management, Exception reporting
- Work closely with Sales, Region teams and Leadership teams to ensure the platform is providing actionable insights
- Assistance leading Dashboard brainstorming discussions
- Analyze sales and customer data to support executive and marketing programs
- Support process improvement efforts and coordinate with IT resources to automate and simplify efforts
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards to track success for various programs
- Proactive communication on progress to both management and the greater organization through Salesforce Chatter
- Assists in ad-hoc analytics/reporting requests, often partnering with teams such as Region teams, Sales Ops, Customer Experience, and Business/Finance Analytics
- Data engineering - build and manage data pipelines and analytical database architecture
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree business analytics, operations, computer science, marketing, finance, business administration, economics or related degree required
- Strategic, analytical and program management skills
- Proficient with Google Suite; Intermediate skills in Google Sheets and Excel
- Experience in Salesforce or similar CRM tool preferred
- Strong ability to interpret business requirements to drive automation in IT systems
- Extended familiarity with Zayo’s data structure and architecture/schema design
- Ability to learn coding languages:
- Intermediate Excel - VBA
- Intermediate SQL, SAQL
- Strong attention to detail
- High energy individual with strong work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to interact effectively with all personnel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Autonomous yet comfortable teaming with others on various projects
- Interest in the intersection between qualitative and quantitative data
