What you’ll do:

Application Security Engineers work across the organization and with third-party groups to ensure the secure operation of Company’s computer systems, servers, and network connections.

What you can expect:

  • Work as part of a team to implement a security framework resulting in a layered defense-in-depth cybersecurity posture for the organization
  • Participate in and support application security reviews and threat modeling, including code review and dynamic testing.
  • Own and perform application security vulnerability management.
  • Support and consult with product and development teams in the area of application security
  • Work with development teams and SRE to mature the dev-sec-ops  processes.
  • Provide direction and assist in creation of security training for development teams.
  • Assist in development of automated security testing to validate that secure coding best practices are being used.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Advise as a subject matter expert on architectural review committee
  • Serve as an organization cybersecurity subject matter expert for various projects, training and assessments as needed
  • Leverage internal and external resources for learning and focus on what is pertinent to organization’s needs
  • Remain current on knowledge and skills necessary for software development, including programming tools, development techniques and related technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to be successful:

  • Familiarity with common security libraries, security controls, and common security flaws.
  • 5+ years development and scripting experience and skills. Ruby and Ruby on Rails, Python, React, Salesforce, Apex
  • Understanding of Cloud infrastructure.  AWS,GCP or Azure
  • Experience with OWASP, static/dynamic analysis, and common security tools.
  • A basic understanding of network and web related protocols (such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, protocols).
  • Experience working with developers.
  • Excellent and professional communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to articulate complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience identifying security issues through code review.

The compensation amount for this role is targeted at $ 110,000.00 - $ 125,000.00. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including your experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

If you decide to come into the office, we’re just seven miles from downtown Denver, in the heart of the Lowry neighborhood. Our office is minutes away from a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, fitness facilities and lush parks and open spaces.
