The Senior Cybersecurity Architect at Zayo plays a pivotal role in defending our computer networks against cyber threats and preventing unauthorized access. This position leads the technical implementation of all current and future cybersecurity solutions deployed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's information assets. A primary responsibility includes identifying and addressing gaps in our current security infrastructure, leading the remediation efforts by collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), the Project Management Office (PMO), and technical teams.
The Architect works closely with IT and Cybersecurity architects, engineers, various working groups, project teams, and application owners, aligning cybersecurity measures with both business and regulatory objectives. Additionally, the role entails participation in a rotating on-call schedule, providing 24x7 support as needed..

  • Lead/Assist with implementation of security technologies and/or processes.
  • Perform in depth analysis on specific services or program level assessments to identify gaps in implementation and/or operation of cybersecurity technologies and/or process.
  • Assist/Lead remediation efforts based on well defined prioritization matrix
  • Assist in complex security incident investigation, perform post incident review to identify areas of improvement from a cybersecurity posture/configuration perspective.
  • Drives the coordination and completion of operations documentation with assigned SMEs.
  • Understand and follow documentation of information security solutions including design documents, flow diagrams, RACI matrices, and inventories to ensure proper operation and monitoring of security technology.
  • Collaborate across Cybersecurity and IT organizations to obtain and share knowledge broadly.
  • Develops program specific metrics and measurements and ensures proper visibility in areas targeted or improvement.
  • Navigates the complex information security discipline to help grow the functional area's service offering.
  • Develops and tunes new use cases for monitoring and/or automation.
  • Enable new integrations across cybersecurity solutions to mature our security posture.
  • Works closely with Cybersecurity Operations Leads to ensure proper architecture and engineering support is provided to use case development and playbooks.
  • Works with Cybersecurity leadership in defining Cybersecurity Roadmap for the organization.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, programming, database administration, or a related field.
  • Possession or progress towards certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISC2, ISACA, SANS GIAC, CompTIA, ITIL.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management.
  • Proficient with the operation of network devices, security appliances and security technologies as well as Linux, Windows and Mac OS operating systems.
  • In-depth understanding of cybersecurity threats and countermeasures.
  • Strong Engineering background in multiple cybersecurity services.
  • In depth knowledge of cybersecurity platforms across multiple cybersecurity services (examples: Endpoint, Network, Automation, Application Security, IAM, Cloud Engineering, SIEM, CASB, Zero Trust solutions).
  • Proven experience in designing and architecting cybersecurity programs and solutions.
  • Experience documenting and implementing cybersecurity technology lifecycle from RFI requests to implementation and operationalization approval.
  • Experience with SIEM integrations and use case development for SOC monitoring. Experience with workload automation, scripting and process efficiency preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail for high quality work products.

Base pay range: $136,900 - $178,000, commensurate with experience
