  • The Sales Engineer is the primary technical resource for the International Defense & Intelligence (ID&I) Direct and Channel field sales teams. This position works in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products internally as well as with the potential end customer and channel partners.

    The ideal candidate must be able to articulate geospatial technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. They must also be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. They must provide technical credibility within the customer technical evaluation team and possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports.

     

  • Responsibilities
    • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
    • Develop and make technical presentations and demonstrate how our products/services will meet customers’ needs
    • Interact directly with customers and their technical experts to review, understand and gather requirements
    • Recommend product solutions and services to large/complex opportunities
    • Help convince customers which product/service will best satisfy their needs
    • Assist to Sell/Upsell DG products/solutions to customers and their technical experts
    • Convey customer technical requirements to DG Internal teams
    • Works closely with Business Development to develop new business
    • Help in the design/development of custom made products/solutions
    • Search for new customers and opportunities who might benefit from company products or services
    • Help negotiate tender, contract terms and conditions to meet both customers and DG needs
    • Maintain existing, long-term relationships with customers
    • Facilitate Archive Searches and Tasking Requests
    • Organize and facilitate customer visits
    • Generate technical sales proposals
    • Support customer/marketing Events
    • Identify and help resolve issues with large/strategic accounts
    • Assist in defining complex products/solutions
    • Provide weekly summary of activities

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Expert knowledge of geospatial products and solutions
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Effective interpersonal/negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Effective execution skills
    • Willing to travel extensively up to 50% of time

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, Remote Sensing, or Geodesy
    • Minimum 3-6 years of experience required
