We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team. As a sales engineer, you'll combine technical knowledge and sales skills to provide advice and support to packaging a solution to win. You will act as the technical liaison into Envysion for key contacts throughout the customers organization, so technical understanding with the ability to communicate effectively are essential qualities to possess. Along with the Account Executive, this position will be a key point of contact for clients and will provide both pre and after-sales guidance.

Sales Engineering is an important role within the sales cycle to ensure that a proposed solution is well designed and articulated to the prospective customer and their technical staff. You will work closely with other sales personnel, product teams, deployment resources, finance, purchasing/shipping and support professionals to help facilitate the sales from a technical point of view.

Core Functions

  • Understanding the customer need and establishing Envysion’s product as the best solution that addresses that need
  • Establishing the demo environment and presenting key use cases that best demonstrate the unique value proposition of our SaaS solution
  • Presenting Envysion’s technology infrastructure, including deep familiarity with our hardware, software, networking and security stack
  • Participating in and pro-actively seeking the appropriate product, sales, and procedural training and certification required to maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in the position
  • Supporting the negotiating of contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
  • Responding effectively to RFPs
  • Attaining quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management


Requirements

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience as a sales engineer for a SaaS Business Intelligence company or similar technology
  • Knowledge of restaurant industry related applications, data integration techniques and web technology
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve business problems in complex selling and political environments
  • A general understanding of hardware and video security solutions
  • An analytical mind that can dig into client and technical requirements
  • Innovative spirit
  • Solid oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Project management skills an asset
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of basic networking architecture and video streaming technology
  • Knowledge of DVR equipment, analog and IP camera 3rd party OEM solutions
  • Familiarity with restaurant point-of-sale (POS) platforms and their approaches to data integration preferred
  • Competence with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Excel an asset
  • Some travel in support of in-person customer meetings and trade show activity is expected of this position, up to 20%
