Who are we?

We are a rapidly growing team backed by some of the best venture capitalists in the country like Sequoia Capital from whom we raised our recent $17.1 million Series B. We’re a young company and we expect every early employee to be a massive contributor, create things that have never existed before, have fun, and be a friend to their co-workers. We Embrace Diverse Perspectives. We Focus On What Matters. We Make It Happen. We Say “Thanx” Generously. We literally say "Thanx" to each other in team meetings every week, as corny as it may be.

What about the sales team?

We love to learn, and our culture reflects that. We also love to WIN.  We are passionate about the markets we serve, the problems that we solve and the products that we sell.  We sell knowing that if our clients don’t succeed, we don’t succeed.  We sell with integrity, urgency, and passion.  We give you the room to be creative, but give you the support to succeed.  In exchange, we expect a 100% results-oriented effort!

Who are you?

You are someone who is Passionate. Passionate about people, problems to solve, sales, mentoring, or anything else. That passion energizes you.

You love to coach, teach, mentor and celebrate the success of others.  You are able to learn from others while teaching and leading a team.  You are able to find what motivates individuals and bring out the best in them to raise the collective whole. You know how to deliver tough messages when needed.

You are wildly curious.  You are always looking for new ways to motivate, coach and excite teams.  You can adapt to new ideas, process and concepts and help develop a repeatable process that will allow and organization to grow.

You take action. You find problems and want to solve them even when they aren't your responsibility. Everything is seen as an opportunity for improvement and you don't wait for permission to fix it. We don't have time to let fear stop us so we take action.

You are very comfortable with technology. The product is not overly complex but we have found it is very helpful to be able to explain how it works when asked – and we use a lot of tech for demos throughout the sales process.

Bottom line, you can drive results.  This position is critical to our long-term success and will be valued within our company.

You will:

  • Lead a team of SDR's in a fast paced environment, ensuring individual and team success as it relates to metrics for the organization including SQL targets, Call Metrics and Hiring Targets.
  • Be responsible for hiring and scaling the SDR function 3x over the next 6 months.
  • Be responsible for a team financial target of contributed SQL that map to close business targets.
  • Develop and execute unique campaigns in conjunction with our marketing team, measuring the success and opportunity of each campaign at every step, while clearly communicating current status to all stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for teaching and utilizing established lead sourcing tools to find the next great Thanx merchants and get them excited about our product. You will then collaborate with our Account Executive Manager to ensure adequate funnel coverage.
  • Be measured on the quality of the high-potential leads that have been sourced and converted to inbound opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales and Marketing to execute Geography based penetration campaigns and to ensure optimal market and segment coverage.
  • Work directly with the CEO and Head of Sales to continually evolve the SDR process and improve pipeline creation and success metrics.
  • Create and implement weekly training sessions and other unique learning opportunities to ensure continued development of the team. You will also create much of the content and sales aides needed for success.
  • Be responsible for developing SPIFF's and other unique programs that keep the culture and environment energetic, fun and consistent.

You have:

  • A passion and interest in team building, motivating individuals and measuring success in detail is a must
  • 2+ years of prior Sales Development Management experience.
  • Prior experience as an SDR or AE (required).
  • Experience with one to one or peer coaching and training (required).
  • Worked in a team or competitive environment, had formal sales training,  and/or learned informally from a great mentor (we will ask her/him).
  • An understanding of startup environments and a willingness to break through walls.
  • Managed remote and multi-location teams. (Our teams are in CA and CO).

What is Thanx?

Thanx helps merchants build deeper, data-driven relationships with their best customers. We capture valuable transaction and lifetime value data about customers and enable merchants to act on that information with simple ROI-focused marketing campaigns. As a Software-as-a-Service offering, Thanx requires no point-of-sale integration or additional hardware, instead pulling data directly from proprietary partnerships with the major credit card companies — the result is a seamless merchant experience and equally joyful consumer experience which eliminates the hassles of plastic cards, phone numbers, punch cards and other traditional loyalty program staples which just slow things down.
