Active Junky is a social shopping community for outdoor sports enthusiasts that provides members exclusive cash back savings at 180+ online stores like REI, Backcountry.com, Nike and Patagonia. We are building a better way to discover, research and save on the best gear and products available in both online and offline (brick and mortar) stores. We are forging a direct and valuable connection between outdoor enthusiasts and the companies that provide experience-building gear and products. We are a funded startup currently based out of the amazing Galvanize space in Denver, CO. We live and breathe the startup, technology and outdoor culture and lifestyle.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing and implementing all strategies regarding affiliate commerce sales as well as collecting data, targeted user acquisition, developing reports, insights and suggested actions regarding customers, competitors and campaign effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have experience developing elaborate digital campaigns strategies designed to engage and convert in order to achieve aggressive user growth and sales. A key focus will be the development and deployment of email campaigns, CRM system and marketing automation strategies / processes.  Advanced knowledge in those fields are necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all marketing duties, company sales growth and profitability.
  • Drive traffic and opt-ins to the Active Junky website with a variety of online campaigns, including emails, landing pages, PPC advertising, banner ads, social media and strategic partnerships.
  • Responsible for a monthly sales goal and has experience building short term sales strategies
  • Manage campaign budgets and track ROI.
  • Use segmentation, targeted messaging and A/B testing as needed to optimize engagement levels.
  • Develop cohesive follow up and retention strategies using email and marketing automation software. This includes developing weekly campaigns, drip campaigns, and cohesive new acquisition follow ups.
  • Finds new and innovative channels to reach and connect with potential new users.
  • Develop, optimize and reach strict CPA goals.

Education and Experience

•Bachelor’s degree

• 5+ years of digital marketing and sales experience for an ecommerce, web based or mobile app company.

Skills

  • 5+ years in digital marketing with a focus or significant exposure to email marketing.
  • Analytically inclined.
  • Knowledge of affiliate marketing industry
  • Experience developing, implementing, monitoring and optimizing digital user acquisition campaigns.
  • Ability to create and implement marketing automation campaigns a plus as well as a firm understanding of customer drip and win back campaign creation, as well as list segmentation and content creation. Experience with Silverpop or similar ESPs is a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of marketing channels such as SEO, SEM, display, retargeting, Facebook, affiliate, cost-per-lead, and email as well as the hands on knowledge of how to manage them.
  • Knowledge of developing unique landing pages to enhance campaign performance.
  • Understanding of digital campaign tracking methods and ROI reporting.
  • Self-starter and the ability to work independently in a small team
  • Outstanding written communication and verbal presentation skills
  • Advanced excel skills and a basic knowledge of SQL database (no coding experience needed, but knowledge of how data tables work).
  • Outdoor industry knowledge preferred!
