Technical Sales and Applications Engineer
Summary:
AimLock is seeking a Technical Sales and Applications Engineer responsible for the configuration of products and/or services to create pricing and schedule proposals for new prospects and established customers. The Technical Sales Engineer will match system solutions to customers' requirements, develop professional quotation packages, obtain, and verify customer purchase orders, communicate awards to the organization, and track the progress of awarded programs to ensure on-time delivery to the satisfaction of the customer orders. This role is critical to establishing healthy projects that lead to high customer satisfaction.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Engineering (or related field)
- Familiarity with electronics components, materials properties, and manufacturing processes
- Maintaining existing and establish new strong/solid relationships with customers.
- Military/Defense business acumen; defense industry experience preferred
- Able to work in fast-paced sprint environment to meet intermittent deadlines, while managing long-term projects in the background
- Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Highly proficient level computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent time management skills
- Highly energetic self-starter
- Should be honest, assertive, and systematic
- Must currently possess or be able to obtain US security clearance
- Ability to travel and function in all-weather environments for product demonstrations
Essential Job Functions:
Sales Engineering:
- Demonstrates a very good understanding of autonomous precision targeting weapon systems
- Understands and is sensitive to the competitive landscape, knows our competitors’ strength and weaknesses, and can articulate and advocate for our value proposition
- Prospect & qualify new business opportunities for existing and newly acquired products
- Identify & qualify customer needs and requirements
- Maintain and grow current customers
- Ability to balance the voice of the customer with the voice of the business
- Identifies decision makers amongst targeted leads
- Supply technical data and business-related information to existing and prospective customers
- Capable of developing professional quote packages and presenting them to prospective customers, both written and verbal
- Assists in forecasting sales for a three-year horizon.
- Assures major customer programs are delivered on time to committed delivery dates
- Verifies Purchase Orders (POs) agree with quotations
- Coordinate and host customers meetings at AimLock sites and customers sites
- Support key marketing/sales activities including trade shows, conferences, and other Defense Industry events
Application Engineering:
- Capable of converting customer requirements and challenges into solutions
- Understanding of sourcing requirements including identification of cost and lead times for preferred components
- Working knowledge of all acceptable substitute components
- Able to represent AimLock competently and confidently at technical conferences and shows through speaking engagements and participation in technical seminars
- Able to communicate to leadership required technology roadmaps, industry trends, and opportunities and threats relative to our product strategies
