The Position

We are seeking a Director of Business Development (dependent on experience) to help grow and develop our partnership ecosystem within Uplight’s Step Change Labs.
 

What you get to do:

  • Strategy development focused on building Uplight’s connected ecosystem and generating new revenue streams, utilizing innovative technologies and accessing existing and adjacent markets 
  • Develop processes and frameworks that allow for the systematic evaluation and progression of potential partnerships
  • Create, develop and nurture relationships with the strategic alliances, both inside and outside of the energy industry, that will allow Uplight to achieve a strategic high ground and reach longer term ambitions for growth
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and strategic partners to run workshops to develop joint go-to-market value propositions, create joint stories, train salespeople, develop marketing material etc.  
  • Become a subject matter expert with respect to the joint value propositions created. 
  • Develop commercial models and negotiate agreements with potential partners
  • Facilitate the interaction between partners and internal stakeholders to progress multiple areas of our business forward

What you bring to Uplight:

  • The ability to turn complex information into simple and compelling stories
  • An in-depth understanding of the sales process and how to manage sales within the utility industry
  • Experience bringing together various internal and external stakeholders and moving them towards a common goal
  • The confidence, intelligence and experience to challenge the status quo, stand up for what’s right and negotiate with industry leading players
  • The ability to sell your vision and generate the excitement required to progress it forward
  •  The financial acumen required to create models, evaluate opportunities and develop new business cases
  • The ability to marry strategy with implementation – i.e. be willing to take things from beginning to end
  • A growth mindset always looking for connections (people, technologies, products etc.)

 Bonus Points:

  • A good understanding of what technology is coming over the next few years and thoughts on how it can be applied to drive deep decarbonization

 Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000 (dependent on experience)

Location

Our Boulder office has plenty of nearby restaurants, bars and hotels for our visiting employees, as well as in office employees to enjoy. We have on-site parking, and when you enjoy a walk near the office - you can take in the views of the Beautiful Boulder FlatIron Mountains nearby - Enjoy!
