The Opportunity
Xero is growing its US Sales organization and this is a very exciting time to join the team! We are looking for you to develop into a community leader for Xero by impacting Xero's market growth in specified States.
This position will be responsible for creating/attending SMB Direct Events to present/demo Xero Software along with selling the Xero solution to SMB owners. You will directly build relationships with non accounting networks to build Brand Growth while create selling opportunities for the Inside Direct Sales Team from a state level.
What you'll do
- Cultivate and recruit Industry Associations and Community Groups to grow our direct channel
- Manage and be accountable for sales pipeline of direct vertical opportunities in agreed target territories, franchises and associations and other SMB business networks
- Design, develop, execute, and analyze special SMB events at local and state levels to increase Xero Brand Awareness
- Leverage your agility, work ethic and desire to achieve, by contributing to the success of a growing US sales team
- Carefully monitor competition in the US market and provide valuable, timely and insightful input into competitive strategy
- Present and negotiate event proposals to meet specific event needs
- Continue to promote Xero as a thought leader in the online market

At a minimum, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Event management or related field marketing
- Exceptional presentation, written communication and people skills, plus the ability to work well in a team environment
- Develop effective and engaging branded events that will achieve organizational goals
- Understand Sales processes and strategies to maximize event ROI and build lasting partner relationships with Government offices (SBDC, SBA, Chamber of Commerce) and other associations
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines.
Bonus points if you have:
- Xero Intel - Xero product knowledge a must for product uses, features and Add ons - having the ability to teach the product.
- SMB Knowledge - Understanding business needs within vertical's - ability to ask questions to find full solution.
