AgriWebb is the fastest-growing tech startup in agriculture with our tried-and-tested ranch management software. We are rapidly expanding across the globe in multiple markets including the United States, South Africa, New Zealand, the UK and Brazil, with our roots already cemented in Australia. 

We are looking for a talented and entrepreneurial Country Manager to lead the charge for us in our US expansion efforts.

 

The opportunity

As we pursue our mission to deliver the digital future of agriculture, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an experienced Country Manager to be one of the first employees on the ground, establishing our brand and building our go to market strategy for AgriWebb in the US.

This is a newly created role in a new market for AgriWebb, but you won’t be alone. You’ll work with our current teams in Australia and the UK - especially Sales, Marketing and Product - to leverage what already exists and adapt it for what you need. With one of our co-founders planning a move to the US, you’ll have support in building what is sure to be a key office for AgriWebb into the future.

What will you be doing? 

Brand Establishment

  • Establish brand identity and presence in the US, promoting AgriWebb’s vision.
  • Act as the face of the business, representing AgriWebb in the industry at conferences, trade shows, rancher events and software events to drive further brand awareness and value.
  • Identify emerging market trends and develop a deep understanding of our competitors to provide market and competitor analysis, using this to inform future strategies. 
  • Identify potential strategic partnerships and opportunities to increase our footprint and reach.

Revenue Generation

  • Create a go to market strategy to launch AgriWebb in the US, establishing rapid growth in a new market for the business.
  • Work with Marketing and Product teams to execute on the go to market and growth strategy. 
  • Identify, cultivate and convert early sales opportunities, capitalising on thought leadership and influencing opportunities from early support. 
  • Collaborate with internal resources and external networks to penetrate key opportunities.
  • Create a reliable pipeline and forecasts, communicating regularly with leadership around challenges and strategies to overcome these. 
  • Develop sales, success and onboarding processes for customers. 
  • Manage and nurture relationships with key customers and strategic partners, ensuring we deliver on the value promised.

People

  • As we grow, recruit the very best talent in this new market to support ongoing success.
  • Build the culture of AgriWebb in the US and lead the team as the market develops and the business succeeds.
  • Lead the team in-country and facilitate achievement of defined goals and targets, monitoring and managing performance as required.
  • Mentor, motivate and develop direct reports. 

Reporting 

  • Report regularly on country performance against agreed plans and targets.
  • Analyse metrics and implement projects to improve operational and financial performance. 
  • Scope, define and present requests for resource allocation, hiring plans and business growth strategies directly to Senior Leadership.

 

A bit about you

Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of sales and marketing principles with a deep understanding of ranchers and channels.
  • You must have a connection to ranching in the US and/or an understanding of the agriculture industry - ideally, knowledge in the cow/calf and backgrounding industries.
  • Go to market knowledge, ideally across SMB, MM and enterprise - both direct and through channels and partnerships.
  • Master’s degree, MBA or other relevant fields, preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • You’re a natural leader with a passion for developing, retaining and motivating a high performing team.
  • Dynamic flexibility - an ability to research, uncover and digest market data to inform strategy and approach, as well as the drive and autonomy to execute and get it done. 
  • Excellent communicator, negotiator and speaker/presenter with experience interacting with opinion leaders.
  • Establishes credibility,authenticity and rapport with intellectually demanding audiences, from ranchers to enterprise customers.
  • Demonstrated empathy, confidence and commitment to effectively influence and lead.

Experience

  • 10+ years’ commercial experience in a high performance environment, ideally in SaaS sales, success and marketing.
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience building, managing and mentoring a team.
  • Experience running a business unit with full P&L responsibility, managing a business to a budget and executing on goals.
  • Ideally you have a background that intersects technology and ranching, with experience in the application of technology to drive improvements.
  • Professional experience in agriculture, or deep roots in the industry.

  • You’re a pro at switching from customer-facing conversations to product solutions and development, easily articulating what needs to be done and why.
  • A team player with genuine interests in the dynamic between marketing, product and sales and how they are closely intertwined for success.
  • You’re flexible and comfortable with uncertainty, enjoying the opportunity to work outside of a defined position with limited resources to meet the needs of a fast-paced startup environment. 
  • Resilient, you see the opportunity in every challenge and can get creative in your approach to get the job done.
