We are currently seeking an experienced Category Manager, Strategic Partnerships to join our Business Development team.

About the Category Manager, Strategic Partnerships position:

We are looking for a Category Manager to grow specific verticals and corporate partnerships aligned with our Business Development group’s Service Professional acquisition initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, driven individual that will play a key role on the Business Development team, prospecting, cultivating relationships, and creating significant growth in profit, revenue and market share. You will be a member of our talented team and report into our Senior Director of Business Development.

About the Business Development Team:

The Business Development Team has been a key component of HomeAdvisor’s success. The Business Development team is responsible for creating high level programs that increase service professional acquisition into the Angie’s List and HomeAdvisor networks. We also are responsible for other revenue streams such as larger corporate partnerships and category sponsorship programs that all increase both the top and bottom lines of our company. We build strategic relationships that secure millions of dollars in revenue each year, and with that comes a huge opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that plays a pivotal role in the overall growth plans of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow service professional acquisition through strategic partnerships in specific categories
  • Grow revenue with prospective corporate partners in specific categories
  • Grow revenue with new category sponsorship advertising on both the HomeAdvisor and Angie’s List platforms in specific categories
  • Build relationships with strategic partners in specific categories for future revenue opportunities
  • Manage the setting up of new accounts with contract creation and CRM account creation
  • Hold sales centric webinars for partners, their employees and their service professional network
  • Proactively seek and evaluate new innovative opportunities for growth
  • Travel to trade shows to prospect new partners and cultivate existing relationships
  • Travel to prospect or partner regional events as well as meetings at their head offices
  • Establish monthly targets; monitor & optimize sales pipelines

Desired Experience & Personality

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience managing and optimizing and individual sales pipeline
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
  • Strong self-starter who is self-motivated to achieve specific goals
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to think creatively and implement ideas that are innovate
  • Desire to learn and keep up with an industry that is always changing
  • Team player willing to collaborate with team members, other business units as well as work individually
