Role Purpose
The Associate Buyer will play a critical role in shaping and executing the assortment for our private label Quilting fabric brands.
Responsibilities

● Support Buyer in developing a compelling product assortment for assigned brands that is aligned with achieving category financial goals and strategic objectives
● Build strong relationships with product suppliers and effectively communicate with these partners on assortment plans, pricing, and order delivery
● Manage monthly order process by building new collection assortment plans and placing/tracking orders
● Partner with Product Development team to build out new product tech packs and ensure accuracy
Partner with Planning team on forecasting and inventory management
● Provide support with category data analytics & conduct scenario and ad hoc analysis focused on identifying business risks and opportunities. Apply key learnings to assortment and buying strategies
● Develop expertise around key product selling points and differentiators and effectively communicating such features to merchandising and marketing teams
● Manage cross-functional relationships with product development, planning, supply chain merchandising, marketing, and content teams
● Create and maintain item SKUs while ensuring data integrity for order management and reporting
● Become a go-to resource in the company for designated eCommerce product category

Basic Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Buying, Merchandising, Business or a related field
● 3 years experience in Buying, ​Planning or ​Merchandising; prior eCommerce experience desirable!
● Proven analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven decision making, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables, etc)
● An understanding of financial measurements (sales, gross margin, measures of inventory productivity) and how to impact them
● Clear and effective written and verbal communication
● Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables with strong organization skills and attention to detail
