Job Description
The Vice President of the Enterprise Business and Product Segment is a new role at Scaled Agile, reporting to the Chief Product Officer as the Executive Sponsor of the business segment. The position is a senior-level role that provides business and product leadership.
The Enterprise Business and Product Segment Leader is responsible for identifying market needs and opportunities, prioritizing the work, and communicating to the rest of the organization what enterprises need to be successful, in accordance with the business goals of the company, as well as co-owning the success of the business segment with the regional leaders.
Responsible for working with the Product Management team and Business Operations to develop a consistent and aligned strategy across the Enterprise Business Segment, and build out the operational processes, programs, and capabilities to deliver on the strategy. They will be responsible for partnering with the leadership team to identify and implement across areas of opportunity to increase Enterprise success with Scaled Agile products.

Leads the Enterprise Business Segment
- Support for enterprise product management, development and operations
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, transparency and excellence across the team and business segments
Areas of Responsibility
- Business Performance
- Share accountability for the value delivered and billings created for the Business Segment with the Region Leaders
- Understand the SAI business context, the Enterprise Business Segment, and products, and help drive the overall SAI Roadmap execution
- Develop, implement, and manage the budget necessary to support the Enterprise Segment
- Business Segment Strategy
- Ensure appropriate business segment representation in the portfolio strategy
- Co-ownership of the Strategic Themes and OKRs related to the Business Segment
- Exploring Markets and Connecting with the Customer
- Collaborate with the Chief Customer Officer to create, communicate and maintain the customer strategy and narrative
- Work closely with the regional leaders to understand and resolve challenges and leverage opportunities in market
- Collaborate with the Chief Methodologist on directions of research and how they lead to Enterprise success and new products
- Share the Enterprise Segment strategy and story with key enterprise customers, and partners, including presenting at Summits and conferences
- With the Product Team, engage directly with customers throughout the product life cycle
- Ensure that the customers’ needs are built into product strategy from the start and remain reflected in released features as the customers’ needs change over time
- Continuously explore the Business Segment context, gathering qualitative and quantitative insights about market dynamics and user preferences. These insights inform both business and technical strategies and produce the hypotheses for Business Segment’s experiments, MVPs, and features.
- Defining Product Strategy, Vision, and Roadmaps
- Oversee the execution and delivery of the relevant products and evaluate their effectiveness and performance from both a customer and SAI perspective
- Play an integral role in bridging portfolio strategy and execution
- Translate customer needs into epics and features that can be delivered upon and achieve measurable business outcomes
- Represent the Enterprise Business Segment at the Business Operations, LPM meetings and ART events.
- Attend Pricing Council as needed in support of Business Segment pricing decisions
- Work closely with Business Sponsor to develop strategy and represent the Business Segment
- Managing and Prioritizing the ART Backlog
- With the Product Team, support the flow of work through the Backlog, ensuring it always reflects the most current needs of the Enterprise Business Segment customers
- Delivering Value
- Accountable for the effectiveness and success of the Enterprise Business Segment as measured through key metrics such as billings
- Accountable for the effectiveness and business success of the SAFe Enterprise bundle
- Accountable for the overall success of enterprises in achieving Business Agility with SAFe
- Plan release of value with optimal market timing; releasing multiple times, balancing customer demand with SAI release cadence
- Drive Go-to-Market content for the Enterprise Business Segment and enablement of region teams in collaboration with Sales Operations and Regions Teams
- Drive good data practices; reporting and dashboards for the Business Segment
- Team Leadership
- The Role provides leadership for Product Managers, Product Owners, and operational personnel who are dedicated to the Business Segment

Qualifications
- 7+ years leading teams and first-line managers in creating GTM and product strategy/ position in the B2B space, preferably in SaaS or Technology, serving business customers
- Enterprise Segment SME, incorporating the voice of the customer, internal expertise and pipeline analytics to refine and optimize segment strategy inclusive of messaging, product positioning, content and campaign prioritization, and product release plans
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to translate data and insights into product and GTM strategy
- Highly organized leader and doer with a bias toward action. Sets and leads an actionable vision for the business segment
- History of successfully leading cross-functional teams with a track record of promoting profitable business in the technology sector
- Ability to lead and apply Agile working practices in a fast-moving environment, collaborating with stakeholders from across the organization
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, integrating disparate activities, new technologies, and agendas while managing quality, milestones, and budgets
Additional Information
Scaled Agile is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The target salary range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000. Salary will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
