Product Specialist

Overview

As the Product Specialist at RemoteLock, you know the pros and cons of the many locks we support along with their capabilities and are adept at helping RemoteLock apply this knowledge to its business. That includes helping the Sales team sell the company’s access control software (cloud portal and mobile apps) as a solution sold with hardware or into hardware environments. You know the ins and outs of the product capabilities and can help the Sales team in pre-sales situations as they consult with customers.  You are also able to translate product knowledge to better enable post sale customer support.

For large opportunities, the sales team knows they can count on you to help them put together a professional response to the RFP complete with accurate lock recommendations and supporting documents.

You leverage your product knowledge to work with Product Owners and the Marketing team to create collateral materials such as datasheets, product comparisons, app notes for the Sales team.  You also create training tools as RemoteLock and its lock partners develop new features.  

You enjoy being a subject matter expert and keeping up with the latest in the smart lock world.  RemoteLock’s many OEM relationships give you direct access to the product teams at leading manufacturers such as ASSA ABLOY, Schlage, Yale, Kwikset, dormakaba, Salto, Igloo, KeyInCode, and others.  You are hands-on with their products and know them as well as they do.  You enjoy cross functional collaboration and the hectic pace that comes with it.  You know that our success comes from our consultative selling approach providing our customers with solutions that are optimized for their unique needs.  Our Sales people know our products well - compliments of your collateral materials and trainings, and they also know that you are there to back them up when the topic goes deeper.

Your background: you likely have worked in a support role for a lock manufacturer or reseller.  You’re expert on locks in general and have a working knowledge of smart locks.  You’d like to expand your knowledge to learn more about software that includes cloud solutions delivered across the internet.  This position will build on your knowledge of the physical lock world and bring you along into the world of smart locks, internet of things, and Software as a Service (SaaS).  

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding quality support and product knowledge to the sales team with a high degree of satisfaction and technical expertise.  
  • Interact with customer facing teams and customers to understand how they use and benefit from RemoteLock products and services
  • Support go-to-market strategies and summarizes vast amounts of information into succinct product documentation to be used internally and externally
  • Collaborate with the sales team on RFP responses and presentations
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on the development of collateral materials 
  • Create training materials and presentations on new products and features

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with smart locks (required) and the ability to explain their capabilities in plain English
  • A deep understanding of locks for the North America Markets.  Knowledge of the rest of the world, especially Europe, is a plus.
  • Experience creating sales collateral docs such as datasheets, product comparisons, app notes, etc.
  • Experience creating sales training materials in a variety of formats (e.g. written, video, audio)
  • A love of learning and a strong desire to share with others
  • Experience applying technology to solve real world problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in cross functional matrixed roles

Salary $60,000 - 75,000
