Product Developer
Job Description:
The PRODUCT DEVELOPER is a member of the Product Management team and is responsible for all the activities to develop, commercialize, and manage the components of a product line. The Product Developer is focused on executing the vision of the product in terms of features, benefits, cost, and support.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide quoting, BOM management, and ordering support for all Branded product lines
- Maintain thorough knowledge of key branded OEM programs, product offerings, and processes
- Work with the internal Arrow team to provide quotes and information from the Branded vendors to the customer
- Conduct sales trainings as needed to familiarize account reps on key Branded offerings
- Manage relationships with branded vendor OEM resources
- Take training on branded Product offerings to stay up to date on products and technology
- Recommend branded solutions to Product Team as appropriate
- Maintain portfolio of all existing products within the line
- Generate new product ideas through interaction and proactive brainstorming with coworkers, vendors, and customers
- Identify opportunities for product line expansion and develop them into profitable offerings
- Identify target products that need to be developed, including new technology
- Specify market requirements for current and future product, provide requirements to development team
- Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
- Develop and implement companywide go to market plan working with other departments to execute
- Manage high level roadmaps of all product within the line
- Work with support team to manage component level transitions as appropriate
- Go to market trade shows to interact with customers and understand the market
- Interact with customers and other industry stakeholders to gather knowledge and craft the product strategy
- Be an expert with respect to the competition
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Development
- Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Technical background, with experience with servers
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
