Job Description
TIDAL is looking for a highly engaged Product Counsel to support TIDAL's financial services initiatives, reporting directly to TIDAL's General Counsel. In this role, you'll have a broad and diverse range of responsibilities providing legal guidance on product development around financial services in the music industry. You will partner with TIDAL's financial services team to develop new, innovative products that help economically empower artists and creators while managing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also provide ancillary support to product team's working on music streaming and artist tools.
You Will:

• Advise product, engineering, design, marketing and other teams throughout the full span of the full product development lifecycle, from ideation to execution and go-to-market.
• Remain up-to-date on applicable financial and music industry, consumer protection, advertising, IP, and privacy laws and regulations to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance advice.
• Draft terms of use, product policies, and disclosures, and implement related processes.
• Provide ideas and insights into how the company can work within the law to create amazing product experiences for its customers.

Qualifications
You Have:

• 5+ years of combined, relevant experience in top-tier law firms and/or in-house legal departments, preferably working with fintech or other software or technology companies.
• Subject matter expertise with FinTech products, including payments, lending and banking.
• Experience with launching financial services products and advising on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the this space.
• Fluency translating legal advice into actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams.
• A JD and active membership in at least one state bar.
• Experience working in or adjacent to the music (or another entertainment) industry, and/or familiarity with issues related to the music industry is desirable but not essential.

Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $180,000 - USD $270,000
Zone B: USD $167,400 - USD $251,200
Zone C: USD $158,400 - USD $237,600
Zone D: USD $149,400 - USD $224,200
