The HomeAdvisor/Angie’s List Technology team is looking for a VP, Enterprise Information Technology (IT) to bring energy and ownership to a rapidly expanding environment. You will be a key owner in determining the strategic direction of HomeAdvisor’s enterprise infrastructure, including managing the team, planning and directing operational objectives.

This position will sit at our Golden, CO headquarters, but will require sometimes frequent travel to our other locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee enterprise operations of a multi-platform hybrid environment, including establishing key KPIs, SLAs, metrics and measurements, and communicating platform health through operational reviews
  • Define policies, procedures, and standards related to performance, capacity, high availability, continuity, and security
  • Provide ongoing technology risk and scalability assessments
  • Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with the executives, management and key stakeholders on projects regarding pertinent IT activities
  • Develops, maintains, and oversees backup and disaster recovery (DR)/business continuity plans (BCP). Manages institutional risk related to data storage and security
  • Administers departmental budget, within budgetary guidelines to contribute to cost effective operations of the company
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction of Enterprise Storage, VMWare and Citrix environment, Data Backup, replication/DR and voice infrastructure
  • Develop, implement and maintain IT policies, procedures and associated plans for security, data center, desktops and infrastructure based on industry-standard best practices and SOX and PCI requirements and validated systems
  • Supervise and manage the performance of the Technical Operations department through managerial levels
  • Conducting research to remain current and knowledgeable about compliance, industry trends, emerging technologies and planning for required change to the technology stack

Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, technical certifications or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience running an enterprise operations infrastructure with uptime and performance requirements, including experience with capacity planning, utilization review, and performance monitoring
  • 7+ years management experience required, with demonstrable leadership and mentoring ability
  • Advanced understanding of IP and Ethernet networking
  • Strong Windows system administration experience
  • Previous hands on experience with SaaS and IaaS solutions such as Microsoft Azure
  • Previous hands on experience managing Microsoft solutions such as AD, SQL, Exchange, System Center, WDS, Office 365, SharePoint
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging infrastructure technologies and how other IT enterprises are employing them
  • Advanced experience architecting and managing on premise and cloud-hosted environments
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to, build, coach and mentor a team of highly technical individuals
  • In-depth understanding of all disciplines related to data center construction and management (e.g., DC Power, UPS, power distribution, generators and transfer switches, cabling)
  • Advanced understanding of virtualized environments and SAN storage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

While this role will have a lot of independent direction and projects, teamwork is a vital part of our environment. You must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong team management and leadership. This role will work closely with business teams across the organization; including other highly technical, engineering-oriented teams to executive management. Successful, proven prioritization experience is key, and you’ll need strong project management and multi-tasking skills to be successful. We need someone who has impeccable listening skills, maintains a cool head when things don’t go as planned, and can converse on all technical subjects.
