Position Purpose:

This position will manage the forecasting, planning, purchasing, and quality of components for a medical device. The job will require collaboration with all members of the Prima-Temp team as well as with outside contractors. This position will report to the CEO.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of raw materials insuring that quality materials are purchased on a timely basis, in appropriate quantities and at fair prices.
  • Oversight of as many as 3 contract manufacturers and numerous other suppliers.
  • Management of the production schedule to ensure finished goods are delivered on time.
  • Planning and scheduling of domestic and international customer shipments, implementing lean concepts throughout the supply chain.
  • Fostering cooperation and effective communications between the supply chain and the balance of the organization as a business partner.
  • Development of cost-effective material and inventory reduction targets that deliver bottom line financial results while ensuring product delivery to meet company customer fulfillment goals.
  • Vendor and supplier management including engaging in contract negotiations, developing contracts with domestic and global suppliers, successful management of these relationships and contract terms, monitoring vendor/supplier performance and resolving issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Procurement preferred.
  • 6-8 years experience in related areas of purchasing, planning, forecasting, shipping & receiving, manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of the entire supply chain process.
  • Previous experience in international sourcing and shipping of goods.
  • Proven experience in planning, budgeting, analytics and decision making.
  • Ability to operate independently and identify alternative course of action while making timely decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent level of communication and interpersonal skills required written and oral communication, including an executive level audience.
  • Experience with micro or wearable electronics a plus, prefer engineering background plus supply chain management, familiar with systems involving PCBs, hardware, firmware and software. Medical device and QMS adherence helpful, as products must be manufactured under ISO 13485 and 9000. 
  • Some travel may be required, both domestic and international.
