ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Special Projects Manager you will be responsible for facilitating the CEO’s vision through strategic execution, relationship building, professional interactions, project management and problem solving. You are the right hand to the CEO for his most important projects related to the various business units, specific clients and special projects. You will manage the daily and long-term activities of the CEO’s office and advance the CEO’s agenda.

 

You will balance big picture thinking with intense execution, always prioritizing and moving initiatives forward with grace and urgency.  Ability to work cross functionally throughout the organization in a fast paced growing environment is a must.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
 

  • Stay connected with CEO through regularly scheduled and ad hoc communications.

  • Ensure the CEO is is aware of and focused on the most important items for the company.

  • Develop and manage of a master schedule of priorities and tasks, updated continually.

  • Keep the CEO accountable for commitments.

  • Collaborate with the CEO’s Executive Assistant who manages his schedule, time and travel.

  • Collaborate with additional project management resources to ensure projects are initiated and progressing according to schedule.

  • Direct research activities of the office. Take on and manage projects as required.

  • Help complete priority items for the CEO to an appropriate level of quality.

  • Consult on complex challenges, looking at all angles and making informed decisions.

  • Share the CEO point-of-view when necessary.

  • Help keep the CEO accessible and open to new ideas and proposals.Post Job


 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Management, Marketing with relevant career experience

  • MBA preferred

  • 4-6 years of experience managing high-level projects and communications

  • Discreet and confidential.

  • Must be capable of managing multiple, diverse assignments/projects simultaneously, responding diplomatically to diverse constituencies, handling sensitive situations and information with discretion, and understanding and solving complex problems.

  • Trusted listener and advisor.

  • Excellent business and personal judgment.

  • Ability to keep calm under pressure.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Confident in managing up.

  • Ability to comfortably dive into most/any area of the business or product.

  • Good sounding board for others in the company — provide open, honest feedback.

  • No ego  —  help employees understand where you can be useful for them vs. a roadblock to the top.
