The Opportunity

DAT is seeking a full-time Senior Event Manager to join our exceptional Marketing team in our Denver, CO office.  

The Senior Event Manager works closely with teams across the company to develop, plan and implement approximately 5 major DAT-owned signature events and oversee the overall strategy for those, and up to 20 additional trade shows annually.  This includes overall strategic approach, budgeting, logistics and execution for large multi-segment, multi-brand trade shows as well as customer meetings, sponsorships, user conferences and other meetings/events. 

Candidate Profile

  • The ideal candidate has experience working in a dynamic corporate marketing or agency environment. 
  • Proven background leading the planning, budgeting and execution of conferences and corporate events. 
  • Proven people management experience leading event teams as direct reports.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills to plan multiple events at once.
  • Excellent strategic planning experience, great interpersonal communication abilities, 
  • and team management experience for projects and event execution.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a rapidly-changing environment.
  • A strong attention to detail. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with the marketing team to develop a corporate event strategy and presence plan that aligns with DAT’s overall annual business objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts, book event/meeting space, and plan all logistics to host world-class events ranging from 30 to 1000+ attendees.
  • Conduct research, make site visits, and budget the resources to help the marketing team make decisions about upcoming and new events.
  • Develop creative and unique experiences to continuously improve and exceed prior event expectations. 
  • Supervise the trade show manager and potentially other direct reports, who are responsible for all logistics and day-to-day execution of trade shows.
  • With the marketing team, execute show/exhibit promotional plans that maximize brand recognition and generate leads. This includes developing objectives and strategies for the effectiveness and ROI for each event.
  • Take lead on planning and managing customer advisory boards.
  • Coordinate and communicate event logistics with internal teams who are staffing, advising or inquiring about all events.
  • Generate and interpret post-show reports, including ROI and follow-up activities that result in sales. 
  • Participate in the show and space selection, and manage the budget each year.
  • Serve as an advisor internally and externally on event-related matters with recent experience working with corporate executives.
  • Awareness of state, federal and trade show industry policies regarding giveaways, promotions, market research etc.
  • Assist with managing on-site setup, teardown and production for trade shows, as necessary.
  • Attention to detail is essential. Along with logistics management, a big part of this job is working closely with the internal finance team and vendors for precise budget management.

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of 5-10 years experience in event management, both self-produced and trade industry created. Large corporate event experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with sales, product, customers, vendors and executive leadership.
  • Exceptional management skills and experience leading event teams.
  • Ability to manage workloads and prioritize requests to meet hard deadlines.
  • Outstanding project and process management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high professionalism.
  • Robust attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Unflappable.
  • Bachelor's degree.

(Colorado only) In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $100,000 base salary, plus benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
