Twilio’s Physical Security & Safety team is growing rapidly and seeking an experienced and dynamic security leader for the position of Project Manager, Physical Security Technology. This individual will work alongside a high impact security technology team focused on deploying and maintaining physical security and life safety solutions and technology programs. The successful Project Manager, Physical Security Technology will work through challenging situations and circumstances to effectively plan, manage, and deploy physical security technology systems, programs, and personnel. This position will be based in Denver, CO and reports to Twilio’s Senior Manager, Physical Security Technology. 

Who?

Twilio is looking for an experienced project manager professional with a demonstrated track record of managing physical security technology teams and contractors through the deployment and maintenance of physical security systems and operational milestones of global projects from start to finish.

  • 8+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years with physical security projects
  • Experienced communicator and able to collaborate with diverse sets of technical, non-technical, on-site, and remote people
  • Technical experience and expertise sufficient to understand higher-level technical problems being solved
  • Experience in spotting blockers and dependency problems in advance of impact and moving solutions for these blockers forward
  • Motivated to do or achieve something because of your own enthusiasm or interest, without the need of pressure from others
  • Willing to answer for the outcomes resulting from your own choices, behaviors, and actions. Take ownership of situations that you’re involved in.
  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in engineering or similar or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of security systems technology and their capabilities
  • Experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments and operational security design/planning
  • Willing and able to travel to any of the global Twilio facilities sites and work flexible off-hours and weekends as required.

Bonus Points for:

  • PMP, PSP, PSC, or other physical security certifications

What?

We are seeking a sharp, personable, highly-organized Project Manager, Physical Security Technology to support our team as we continue to grow our Physical Security Technology program. This is an opportunity to work with a stellar security & safety team on the daily functions that are at the core of Twilio. 

What you’ll do:

  • Be the point of contact for the office build projects
  • Coordinate with any external project management resources used at each office build out site
  • Work with domestic and international remote teams in different time zones across the globe
  • Proactively identify and clearly communicate messages and updates regarding blockers, dependencies, risks, and current status to all stakeholders for Physical Security projects, including escalating through levels of management when necessary. 
  • Define scope with input from Physical Security team members from the Technology, Operations, and Emergency & Life Safety teams. 
  • Discern and identify hidden requirements that will impact risk or dependencies during planning, design, and implementation
  • Determine what resources may be leveraged for each site to complete work on schedule
  • Manage remediation efforts for site or infrastructure issues while determining Day 1 project readiness
